In an open affair, preference is for MUFFIN TOP, placed twice in slightly better contests than this. With plenty more to come after two starts, she is taken to open her account tonight. Brazilian Bliss drops in class and could prove the main threat but chances could also be given to Secret Laughter and Ladder To The Moon.
This should go the way of SMOKEHOUSE, twice second recently in $25k claimers. He was well held in this grade over a mile here for his new connections last time but is clearly capable of better and should appreciate the return to a sprint. Motherload Hipster takes a big drop in class after four runs in much tougher contests and could be the one for the exacta while Toomer's Corner and Miss Silver Rose were third and fourth in a $25k claimer over C&D latest and shouldn't be too far away.
Not much to go on here, but BARBARA'S BEAUTY has twice run well in much better races and is worth supporting here to break her duck at the third time of asking. Gilded Royal has put in some good efforts in this grade but is starting to look exposed and Set Sail, second in this grade over 6f on just her second start, looks a safer bet for the exacta.
Deputy Honour and TRACK EXCHANGE were second and third over a route in this grade last time, separated by just over a length. The latter, however, has much better form over this trip and is taken to reverse the placings on his way to landing the spoils. Gentleman Jim looks best of the rest.
Grandad Bud and Casanova Brown were third and sixth in a similar contest here last time and should be thereabouts again while Audeamus is in fine form but steps up in class. Preference is for SILENT SIPHON, fourth in this grade over 6f here on his debut last month. He was running on strongly at the finish and the extra furlong tonight should enable him to open his account at the second time of asking.
This is tougher than the races won by Decantering and Cosmic Dave on their respective latest outings but both warrant consideration here, while Liza Too has been running well in defeat at this level. Preference, however, is for HALO HOLLIE who hasn't raced since October but is used to mixing in better company and may not have to be at her best to come out on top tonight.
Uniquely has made the frame on both start so far, including when third over 6f here latest and should go well again, along with Atlantic King, who finished just ahead of him in second last time out. However, CALVADOS improved on his debut effort with a close second latest and, with this extra furlong sure to suit and further progress expected after only two starts, he looks the one to beat.
Queen Hatshesput comes into this in cracking form and seems sure go well again along with Lucy Dubai who should appreciate this slight ease in grade. However, STARLIGHT LOUNGE made a big impression when making a stylish winning debut around here last month and there should be more to come still.
A few in with chances in a wide-open finale but ROCHELLE ROCHELLE did well to land the spoils around here last time and a repeat performance can see her follow up. Opera Omnia seems sure to improve from her promising opening effort and she heads the list of dangers along with Creme Dela Suances and Holy Ransom.
