Hot Minute may prefer this slightly shorter trip after fading close home at Aqueduct, while Bavaria couldn't quite bridge the gap to the winner over track and trip last time but is in good heart at present. Gold Score ran on well to win at Golden Gate last time and merits respect, but preference is for WARRIORS WALK, who was short of room early on before sprinting home to score here last time.
Heroic Indeed produced a game pillar-to-post victory last time but this is a big step up in class, so DOASISAY NOTASISAY gets the vote. An easy winner of a maiden claimer here two starts ago, he ran well in a similar event to this last time and can land the spoils. Zonker drops down the ladder and is worth a look, as is Surprise Storm.
A very modest contest and although STRIKING POWER was comprehensively beaten by Food Rules here last time, he was clear of the rest and that looks good enough in the context of this race. Full Liquidity ran a satisfactory race on turf last time and may relish the return to the main track, while Lake Friends was very disappointing on grass last time but has a better chance back on this surface.
The words 'just failed' feature prominently in JOE THE DUDE's recent form, as he's twice come out worst in photo finishes. This drop in trip is something of an unknown for Juan Carlos Guerrero's gelding, but he possesses plenty of ability and can get the better of Ride Candy Ride, who has form over this sort of trip. H O's Birthday is up in distance after a solid second last time.
Speeding Train put in a flashing mid-race move to score in a maiden here last time but will need to step up here, especially with ARMED INTELLIGENCE in the field. Philip Aristone's colt got off the mark at the third attempt with an impressive eleven length romp here and a similar effort could be enough. Gondwanan just failed to hold on in a similar race to this last time and is another for the shortlist.
Warrant Ofc. Cook is a likely warm order after decent efforts on both tracks at Aqueduct, but his wide draw tempers enthusiasm and LONGONAGUSKA gets the vote. Cathal Lynch's gelding had Coming Of Age behind when second here last time and can confirm that form in this contest. Ten Bells has a nice draw for his prominent racing style and has a chance if given a soft lead.
It was hard not to be impressed with Miso Good's demolition job at Penn National, but this is a much tougher event. With her and On The Level both preferring to be prominent in their races, it may be safest to go with SWEET SOLITUDE, who flew home off a decent pace over a route here last time and may just repeat the dose here. Slewie Jones showed a nice finishing kick to win on turf last time but has to prove she can do it on this surface.
Roman Renegade and ROMAN TREASURE look the pair to focus on. The former was a solid third over further here last time and should relish the drop in trip, but Michael Hushion's filly gets the nod based on her reasonable effort in Group 3 company at Aqueduct. Inspired made all to score here last time but will find this company hotter.
LAKE FOREST can land the spoils here. James Ryerson's colt completely fluffed the start here last time but flew home for second and with a better break from the gate, he may be hard to stop. Turn To Travis is another fast finisher who is likely to be involved, while the trailblazing Billy Goes To Jail has talent but may just set the race up for the closers.
