Damariscotta, second in a similar race last time, has been pretty consistent in this grade all year but has won only once in 18 starts and others make more appeal. Julie's Bronzie, fourth in better company latest, should be thereabouts but this should go to PARTY TIP, second in five of his last six starts and dropped slightly in class today.
BRANDEMARTI improved on his racecourse debut to fill the runner-up berth in a tougher event over 6f at Delaware Park latest and with further progress on the cards, he could be hard to beat as he drops in grade today. A Tenor Affair didn't appreciate the step up to 7f last time out and is a threat on his previous form in sprints, while newcomer The Real McRoy would be of interest if the market spoke in his favour.
STORM LEGACY just failed to hang on when second over 6f here and earlier had closed menacingly when a close fourth over 5f. This in-between trip should, theoretically, be ideal and the twice beaten favourite is worth another chance. Admiration has some reasonable form in better company but Skip Son, a C&D winner in this grade in the spring, has been running in better company since and rates the main danger back at this level.
LADY BELLA has got the better of Blues Cat the last two times they have met, including when Randy Allen's charge filled the runner-up berth over C&D latest. She was ahead of two more of these that day and is taken to frank the form and go one better today. Blues Cat could be the biggest danger but watch the market for clues regarding debutant Diamondformymama.
SIR ALY had four of these behind him when scooping the silver medal here last time out, he was successful over this C&D prior to that and looks like the one to beat here. Concrete Block was one of those behind the selection latest but went very close the time before and would be a threat if reproducing that form. Southern Trieste may be the best of the remainder.
Rocknroll Fantasy made a very encouraging debut when well supported in the betting over track and trip but he'll need to improve significantly in order to reverse the form with John Scanlan's TALKFORFREE. He's played second-fiddle on both career starts to date but his latest speed figures set the standard and he should be able to get off the mark under an in-form jockey. Bamboo Shade may prove best of the remainder.
Sadie My Lady lacks a recent run whilst Berstei was a little disappointing last time although he could fare better over this shorter trip. As a result, this may be best left to ZIP CITY DANCER and S. S. Belle whose early speed is an advantage at this track. Marginal preference is for the former who was driven clear to record a decisive success last time and may be able to follow up.
This looks to be a battle between EL CAMPO and Just Too Loud, with the former taken to confirm recent superiority over the latter. Jayne Vaders' colt came out on top over track and trip in September and he has since put in some excellent displays in better company. Riot Alert ran third in a tougher race here last month and can't be ruled out, hailing from a barn that can do little wrong at present.
Gran Cesare looks up against it as he steps up in class but GRADED BY RESULTS looks more than capable of taking the rise in his stride. He showed the benefit of having his first run since May when running out a ready winner last time and he can score again over this longer trip. Loyds Here has been absent for more than a month and may just need this whereas Call Me Wild could be poised for a big run as he steps back up to a route.
Despite finding one too good on her last three outings, LONELY DIAMOND's form this term stand out prominently from the form book and she drops in class today and reverts to the distance at which she landed her only career success. Town Charmer and Webers Drive In could reward each-way support but they lack the consistency of the selection.
