AVENUESOFNEWYORK showed plenty of encouraging signs when third on his racecourse debut over track and trip last month and, with improvement expected, he looks the one to beat. Newcomers, Zuerstgold and Tonto could give the selection most to think about.
XTRA POWER won with plenty in hand over an extended 1m here latest and he will prove a tough nut to crack if in the same mood tonight. Other last time out winners, Berning Blaze and Hefferman are most feared.
JUST DON was fairly impressive when landing the spoils over track and trip last time and he could take some stopping in his bid to follow up this evening. Olympic Pegasus, a winner on four of his last five starts, looks an obvious danger, while Bank Of Dad is no forlorn hope.
CHICK RIGHT QUICK confirmed promise shown on her two previous starts when scoring readily over 6 1/2f here last time and, with this longer trip not a concern, she will be fancied to follow up. Allegheny Moon must be respected after her cosy track success, while Sweetprincesscharm isn't without a chance.
BLING STAR DREAMS gets the vote to come out on top here. He stayed on nicely to take second over 6f at Delaware last time and stepping back up in trip can only help his cause. Romo To T O has been knocking on the door recently and should be in the shake-up again, while Mr. W. B. is another with claims.
ROCK HALL HONEY arrives here on a hat-trick and is expected to take this rise in grade in his stride to extend his winning sequence. Jonathan's Girl benefited from the step up to 7f when scoring here last time but has place possibilities now dropped in trip. Star Recruit, outpaced over 6f here last time, appeals most of the remainder.
MONT VENTOUX was putting in his best work late in the day when finishing a neck second here last month and is expected to gain compensation now returned to this longer trip, over which he is a dual distance winner. Black Tie Only advertised his well-being by scoring over a mile at Colonial Downs last time and looks the one for the exacta. Eze Does It completes the shortlist.
CALMAFTERTHESTORM was denied a double when touched off into second at Belmont last time but had previously won by a wide margin over this trip at Pimlico and would be a danger to to all if running to the same level of form here. Kiss The Stars remains open to further improvement at the trip and is feared most in his quest for a four-timer. Smart Seattle is another to consider.
GITCHEE GOOMIE has been a pillar of consistency in recent months, building upon his neck defeat in a Belmont Group 3 by landing a $100k stakes contest at the same venue when last sighted. Desert Sage is another holding his form well and is feared most off the back of his Group 3 second at Pimlico last time. Check The Label completes the shortlist.
Web Surfer may improve for this step up in trip judging by his recent efforts over shorter but the vote goes to SURGEON NATE, who advertised his well-being when scoring over C&D last month and is one of the least exposed runners in the field. London Eye and Crafty Peace have place possibilities and are also considered.
