The Crawford yard, regular and frequently successful raiders to the UK, boasts a strong hand with Dr Moloney and THE CHIEF VILLAIN. However, the former has a lengthy absence to overcome and is probably best watched unless the market indicates otherwise, whereas the latter arrives on the back of an improved effort when third here 10 days ago. A first-time tongue-tie and hood sparked improvement that day and a similar performance will see him go close with accoutrements retained. Sacred Square showed some promise on debut and looks a likely improver for Donald McCain. He rates the main danger.

The Chief Villain got back on track when third over further here last week, and the way he travels suggests a return to this trip should hold no fears, so he gets the nod to break his hurdling duck. Sacred Square showed promise on his hurdling debut at Ludlow in May, and rates the biggest danger.

Winter Alchemy, beaten 45 lengths at Hexham last time by the well-treated Knight Woodsman, has to be of interest returned to timber off a fair handicap rating. However, he's likely to have his work cut out to contain Cygnet, gently coaxed back to form by Peter Bowen, and Irish challenger SEVEN ACRES. The latter, a rare raider for the Paul Nolan yard, has performed inconsistently to date but a repeat of his Wexford success in April would see him go very close and he's a chance worth taking. Recent course winner Solway Sam completes the shortlist.

Harrys Whim looks interesting back in handicap company after coming up against the potentially talented Imjoeking (runs later) at Hexham last time, but his overall completion record over the larger obstacles is a cause for concern and GLEANN NA NDOCHAIS rates a safer option despite an untypical fall (beaten at the time) recently at this track. That was a better race and he can return to winning ways having been dropped a couple of useful pounds. Peachey Moment could go well with Jodie Richards claiming 7lb, while Lord Of Drums is almost certainly better than he's shown this year.

Never Never, forced to pull out all the stops to notch a first hurdling victory from El Massivo at Cartmel last time, now resumes hostilities with HANDMAID. The pair clashed at Bangor in May when the Bowen inmate proved six lengths too good in receipt of 3lb on good ground. The King's Theatre mare is 1lb better off now and can confirm placings on the forecast slightly quicker conditions. Far from disgraced on her only subsequent start behind a decent type in Supreme Present, she's open to further progress. Apachee Prince, much improved last time at Aintree, is next best.

IMJOEKING has always looked a chaser of potential quality and a smooth glide around Hexham in a modest novice chase last time will have done his confidence no harm at all. Lucinda Russell throws him into handicap company now where he's asked to concede upwards of 11lb all round. This clearly represents a tougher fencing examination but Craig Nicol claims a useful allowance and he's taken to outclass this field. Irish raider Maddoxtown is respected after a good Downpatrick chasing effort last month off his lowly weight, with Roc De Prince and Ballygrooby Bertie rating next best.

Mister Bricolage has long promised better things since his early novice hurdle days but has hitherto failed to deliver, beaten in claiming or selling grade on his last three starts. It will be fascinating to see if Peter Bowen can succeed where Messrs Hobbs and O'Brien failed, with the Oscar gelding immediately returned to open handicap company by the Welsh handler. However, IMPERIAL BREEZE found dramatic improvement when scoring at Roscommon and can supplement gains if turning up in Scotland in similar form. Endeavor shaped far more promisingly last time and could be interesting off a fair mark.

Watch out for: Endeavor (6)

Irish-raider Imperial Breeze bounced back to winning ways on just his second outing for this yard last month and is taken to follow up. Mister Bricolage is interesting on his first run for Peter Bowen, while Cadore is potentially fairly treated and should strip fitter for a recent spin on the Flat.
