Dream Again Boys is respected in his bid for a hat-trick but was all out to score at Warwick last time and may be vulnerable off 5lb higher today, with the lightly-raced BYGONES SOVEREIGN expected to improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces and appearing the one to be on. Ballytober, like the selection, is stepping into handicaps for the first time and warrants a market check, while there could be better to come from Kayf Aramis if he can avoid getting locked in a battle for the lead, which proved his undoing at Wetherby last time.

Dream Again Boys will doubtless be popular in his hat-trick bid, but a 5 lb rise and drying ground are potential stumbling blocks. SONA SASTA unseated his rider in the Welsh National in January but had previously struck on his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow off 4lb lower. If bouncing back to his best now dropped in trip and granted better ground, David Pipe's charge is weighted to finish in the shake-up. The enigmatic Michel Le Bon could get involved if first-time blinkers do the trick, since he was a creditable second in the Badger Ales Trophy off this mark in November. The consistent Desperate Dex is unlikely to be far away and cannot be left off the shortlist either.

SPORTING BOY has returned in good order this season and backed up his October success at Ludlow when romping to an easy victory at Wetherby the following month. Michael Blake's representative was eased down to score by 8 lengths that day and holds an early entry in the County Hurdle later this month. He's taken to continue his Cheltenham Festival preparations and overcome a 14lb rise to bag a treble. Cry Of Freedom and Turn Over Sivola have claims on the pick of their best novice form, though both need to better their previous handicap efforts to trouble the selection.

Saved By John has been raised 6lb for his 2m Wincanton success last time but he can still go well with this longer trip no problem. Big Fella Thanks has gone up 9lb for his Wincanton success in January but he still makes the shortlist, along with Garynella. THE KNOXS would probably have won over this C&D last time had he not come down at the last and could still be well handicapped. He looks the one to beat. Ballabriggs is unlikely to hit top gear until returning to Aintree in April.

Open to more improvement going up in trip on just his second start in a handicap, Johnny Red is likely to be the subject of some market support and the booking of Daryl Jacob is a positive one. HATTERS RIVER is likely to be bounced out in front under Sam Twiston-Davies, however, and connections will have taken much encouragement from his Kempton effort when a close-up second over this distance off a 6lb lower mark. That hike looks a little on the steep side, but he's taken to score at the expense of Arctic Wings.

MARIE DES ANGES regained some confidence when landing a novice event at Wetherby last month and the form of her prior effort in a Taunton handicap over timber has worked out well. Pitched into the handicap ranks over fences for the first time, she looks feasibly treated off 108 with more improvement to come and she'll take the beating in this small field. Prolinx heads the weights and can make the frame if over his Market Rasen fall latest, while Red Rouble represents the bang in-form Nigel Twiston-Davies team.
