TROUBLE IN PARIS gave a good account of himself when runner-up over 3m1f at Ayr and is expected to build on that effort off 3lb higher. The Shrimp is 5lb above the mark off which he scored over the extended 3m2f at Perth in May but has possibilities along with Another Dimension, who needs to better his previous chase effort to figure but seems feasibly treated on his best hurdles form.

Watch out for: The Shrimp (4)

BEAU DANDY has never been this low in the weights and might be worth siding with in a race where most have questions to answer. Trouble In Paris did rather throw it away last time but it's an effort which shows he's very capable from this sort of mark, while Another Dimension is fairly handicapped if he can reproduce his recent hurdles form on just his second try over the larger obstacles.

Brave Spartacus romped to a five-length victory over 2m1f at Sedgefield when last sighted but now he has a 9lb rise to contend with, preference is instead for ARISTO DU PLESSIS, who has shown progressive form in novice company and could take another forward step now moving into handicaps off what appears a workable opening mark. Claude Carter runs under a penalty for his recent course victory over 2m and also has claims.

THANKYOU VERY MUCH showed the benefit of having her hurdles debut spin at Wetherby behind her when striking in a C&D maiden in November and is expected to follow up under a penalty now the penny appears to have dropped. Tara Mac, second behind James Bethell's mare two starts ago, has claims if bouncing back from a wayward effort over 2m4f at Bangor. Samedi Soir could also figure if building on a creditable C&D third.

In theory THANKYOU VERY MUCH may struggle to confirm November's C&D form with Tara Mac on 6 lb worse terms, but the latter has run a little disappointingly at Bangor since and James Bethell's charge is taken to come out on top again. TEO VIVO has improved out of all recognition since joining Pauline Robson, and won with ease on his return from a break at Kelso last month. The assessor has reacted accordingly with an 11lb rise but he is on an upward curve and might not be finished with yet. Avidity is greatly respected on his return having won in commanding fashion at Ayr last March, but he is entitled to be sharper for this. It's High Time ran out of puff in the dying strides at Hexham and ought to be thereabouts on the easier track. Sir Safir and Streets Of Newyork aren't discounted for each-way purposes and complete the shortlist.

QUITO DU TRESOR bounced back from a spell in the doldrums when pipped over course and distance on New Year's Day and if he can build on that improved effort, he will take plenty of beating. Man With Van has been below par the last twice but if the return to this trip and the application of the first-time visor spark a revival, he would pose a serious threat to the selection. Habbie Simpson saw off Riskier by half a length at Newcastle last month and he is taken to confirm the form.

Allez Cool was narrowly foiled at Wetherby and is entitled to maximum respect as he bids to go one better off a 5lb higher mark. Snapping Turtle also features highly on the shortlist, while Bracing could go close if building on his most recent effort behind an improved rival over track and trip.
