All of these have questions to answer but the marginal preference is for SADAATY, who chased a pace that was far too fast when finishing sixth in the UAE 2000 Guineas here earlier in the month. The son of Munnings should get a good trip from stall three today and the drop back in distance is unlikely to be a problem. Rawy set that frantic pace in the Guineas and he should be able to dominate at more sensible speed. That said, he finished very tired and the two-week turnaround has to be a major concern. Summer Is Tomorrow didn't appear to handle the hill at Jebel Ali last time but his previous form at this venue is very encouraging, although he could be trapped wide.
RAWY failed to stay 1m in a much better race than this a fortnight ago and down in trip, is taken to make the most of this easier assignment. Summer Is Tomorrow is the most pragmatic second option, while Sadaaty warrants a second look as well.

Jadwal has taken a big step forward since arriving in the UAE last year, winning his last two starts in local company, but he needs to defy a career-high mark and step up in grade today. With that in mind, preference is for BATWAN, who accounted for a decent field in a rated conditions event over C&D a month ago. That form suggests that a mark of 99 is workable for the Franch raider and he should not be discounted. Taneen was only three quarters of a length behind Jadwal last time and is 4lb better off with that rival today. Ekhtiyaar is clearly not the force of old but the handicapper has given him a chance and it would be no surprise to see him in the mix.
BATWAN bounced right back to form on his yard debut when going in over C&D last month and is weighted to follow up now going handicapping. Taneen comes here in good nick and can also boast a C&D success so is feared most, although fellow C&D scorer Jadwal and in-form Harry's Bar can both make their presence felt too in an open handicap.

Doug O'Neill has had a major impact on the Carnival this season (three winners and three placed from just nine runners) and the American trainer could add to his haul with NOTRE DAME. The five-year-old failed to make an impression in the Group 3 Al Shindagha Sprint over C&D last time but this is a much weaker contest and a mark of 92 gives him a big chance. Waady has not been at his very best on turf this season but he was second in the Group 3 Dubawi Stakes when last seen on dirt a year ago and it would be no surprise to see him in the mix today. Bochart has the ability to go well but he is arguably at his best over 7f these days and he's not been breaking as well as he used to. Desert Doctor and Behavioral Bias would need a fast pace to produce their best but they are capable of making the frame in a race of this nature.
NOTRE DAME was well held in a C&D Group 3 last time, but he's worth another chance now switched to a handicap from a fair opening mark. Desert Doctor can have a say if building on his latest effort, while Live In The Moment is another to consider returning to calmer waters.

Star Safari won this race 12 months ago and is likely to go very well once again today, although he only beat Bedouin's Story on that occasion and his form this season has been good but not very strong. With that in mind, preference is for ROYAL FLEET, who only found one too good in the Al Rashidiya on his UAE debut last month. The son of Dubawi then bumped into Lord Glitters in the Singspiel a couple of weeks ago and a reproduction of that level of form today may well be good enough to win this contest. Integrant has an each-way chance having caught the eye when behind Star Safari in the Zabeel Turf, but he is 6lb worse off with that rival.
Hard to side against last year's winner STAR SAFARI after his smooth victory over Marie's Diamond here 4 weeks ago. Integrant is interesting after a promising run in that race, with Royal Fleet also a contender.

NEW KINGDOM was beaten at 4/11 in the trial for this contest a month ago but this extra furlong should suit this son of Dubawi and he can make amends. Nations Pride has won twice in the UK and that includes an easy success over 1m2f at Chelmsford when last seen in November. The layoff is a slight concern but he may well be the main threat to his stablemate. Pjerrot disappointed on dirt last time but he was not far behind the selection in the trial.
Not for the first time Charlie Appleby's runners look the ones to focus on with NEW KINGDOM selected to come out on top. He improved on the bare form of his Haydock victory when finishing runner-up at this track 5 weeks ago and, with this step up to 1¼m sure to suit, he can get the better of stablemate Nations Pride. Sed Maarib looks best of the remainder.

SCABBARD lost his way after finishing fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile back in 2019 but he won well on his UAE debut over C&D late last month. The five-year-old has been given plenty of time to recover from those exertions and it would be no surprise to see him play a leading role once again today. Dessman has struggled in two starts this season but this is a big drop in grade and the handicapper has given him a chance. Discovery Island won a conditions event here last time but the strength of that form can be questioned and a 15lb rise in the ratings is a major concern. Bright Start failed to make an impact on his return to action over 1m2f here last month but he was second to Hypothetical in a handicap over C&D a year ago.
A chance is taken on BRIGHT START leaving his reappearance run behind as he's well treated on the form he showed here early last year. Scabbard made a winning start for the Doug Watson stable over C&D last month and is feared most ahead of Law of Peace.
