A wide draw has not helped PANADOL's chances today but there is not a lot of pace in this race and the son of Flatter should be capable of getting to the front without expending too much energy. Salem bin Ghadayer's colt created a big impression when making all to easily beat Endifaa in a maiden over a mile here three weeks ago and he should take plenty of catching this afternoon. El Patriota won the trial for this race in late January and he can be expected to go well once again, although he picked off moderate and tiring rivals on that occasion and Panadol sets a higher level for him to aim at. The rest will need the pair to disappoint to be successful today but Endifaa, Speight'spercomete and Nayefah have each-way claims.
A potential match on paper between EL PATRIOTA and Panadol, with preference for the former as he chases his fifth win from 6 starts and should get better the longer he's out in Dubai. Panadol was impressive when forging clear on debut 3 weeks ago and is open to any amount of progress, while Nayefah and Leopardo rate as solid each-way options.

WALTON STREET was a hugely impressive winner of a Listed handicap over C&D on the opening night of the Carnival, breaking the track record, and Charlie Appleby's gelding is very hard to oppose in a weak renewal of this Group 2. Dubai Future accounted for last week's Nad Al Sheba Trophy winner Volcanic Sky when scoring over 1m6f here last month, but he was five length behind the selection prior to that and is only 2lb better off today. Dubai Warrior hated the dirt in the second round of the Al Maktoum Challenge last month and, while he should find this to me more suitable, he still has surface and stamina questions to answer this afternoon.
WALTON STREET was at least as good as ever as he outclassed a field of handicappers over C&D back in January and Charlie Appleby's charge is a confident selection to take this Group 2 contest. Dubai Warrior is feared most back on turf having failed to handle the dirt just over 3 weeks ago, with Dubai Future next on the list.

There is likely to be a fast early pace in this contest with Shanaghai City and Bochart drawn low, while Mickael Barzalona will almost certainly be aggressive on Important Mission from his wide stall. With that in mind, the race could set up perfectly for CANVASSED, who tracked the leaders early before picking up really well in the straight to beat Important Mission in a handicap over C&D a month ago. The was the first start over 6f for Doug Watson's six-year-old and he may have more improvement left to come and a strong early pace will bring his stamina into play. If Bochart is able to dominate then he will be hard to peg back and stall two is a big positive, however he has yet to make his mark at Group level. Premier Star was a useful performer in the US and any market support for him would have to be noted.
CANVASSED proved well suited by the drop to sprinting when winning a C&D handicap last month and can take the step up in class in his stride. Good Effort made a solid start to his career over here when fourth in a C&D Group 3 in January and rates an obvious danger under Frankie Dettori. Important Mission is also respected, while American-import Premier Star is another interesting contender.

North America has a good record when fresh and he is drawn well to attack the early lead in stall two, but the dirt track has been riding much fairer this season and he could be vulnerable late on if taken on up front. Midnight Sands was arguably the most progressive horse in the UAE last season but he also has questions to answer after a luckless spell in the US. One who could be underestimated in the market is KIMBEAR, who won this race back in 2018. The veteran has been disappointing this season and appears to be Doug Watson's third choice based on jockey bookings, but he is drawn well to track the early pace and he is entitled to be sharper today having only had two starts this campaign. Tuz made a very encouraging return to action in a handicap over C&D a couple of weeks ago and this big colt is likely to improve significantly for that outing.
NORTH AMERICA was below form in the Saudi Cup when last seen 12 months ago but he has a fine record when arriving fresh around this venue and is fancied to make a bold bid to resume winning ways. Midnight Sands, who may well bounce back to form re-united with Doug Watson, Blown By Wind and Kimbear head up the dangers, whilst Tuz may yet have a little more to offer.

Lord Glitters found a slow pace against him when a close third in the Al Rashidiya over C&D last month and that followed an impressive victory in the Singspiel on the opening night of the Carnival. David O'Meara's veteran is likely to go very well once again but the marginal preference is for AL SUHAIL, who was an impressive winner of a Listed race over a mile when last seen at Newmarket in July. The son of Dubawi was twice placed at Group level as a juvenile and he is from a family that improve with age. First Contact made a very encouraging debut for these connections when a close second in the Zabeel Mile and he should not be underestimated, while Court House is the pick of the remainder.
A Group 1 regularly dominated by Godolphin and AL SUHAIL looks all over their next Group 1 star. The youngest in the field, he won a Newmarket listed race as his rider liked when last seen and has even more to offer after just 6 starts. Lord Glitters and Court House weren't beaten far in the Al Rashidiya 3 weeks ago and won't be far away again.

Winner of seven races from 5f to 1m. Beaten 1l by Salute The Soldier when second of 9 on his latest outing here over 1m 1f last month.
Salute The Soldier sets the standard having won Round 2 last month but he had the ideal trip tracking Capezzano on that occasion and the extra half a furlong today is not certain to suit. Thegreatcollection has proven to be a very consistent performer this season but his last two efforts suggest that he is vulnerable this afternoon. With that in mind, a chance can be taken with ROMAN ROSSO, who showed some promise in two starts in the UAE last season and he made a really encouraging return to action when a close fourth in Round 1 over a mile in January. Satish Seemar's six-year-old was not far behind Thegreatcollection and Salute The Soldier on that occasion and he is much more likely to be suited to this trip. having won won a Group 1 over 1m4f in Argentina, and he is also much fresher. Richard Mullen appears to have picked Secret Ambition over the selection but the recent Firebreak winner has to prove that he stays and he will have much more competition for the lead this afternoon.
SALUTE THE SOLDIER proved suited by the step up in trip when holding Thegreatcollection at bay here last month and the duo are fancied to come home in the same order here in this higher grade. Multiple course winner Secret Ambition has the form to play a part but might have to settle for a place with his stamina not assured.

ROYAL CRUSADE remains unexposed as a four-year-old and he showed plenty of promise when finishing sixth in the Commonwealth Cup on his return to action last season. The son of Shamardal built on that performance to beat the subsequent Group 1 winner Glen Shiel in a French Group 3 when last seen in July. The lack of a recent run has to be a slight concern but he should take plenty of stopping if anywhere near ready. Acklam Express did not get a clear run when second in the Meydan Sprint over 5f last month and that effort suggests that the extra furlong today should not be a problem. Man Of Promise beat Final Song in a handicap over C&D last month but the filly could reverse that form on 13lb better terms this afternoon. Ekhtiyaar may reward each-way support but Doug Watson's gelding has some questions to answer at the moment.
ROYAL CRUSADE looked a sprinter to keep on the right side of when landing a similar event at Deauville last summer, so he earns the vote. His stablemate Man of Promise also looks promising though, and has more to offer, with 3-y-o Acklam Express another to note.
