Barring an accident, surely nothing can prevent OLASO collecting his second hurdling success. Jonjo O'Neill's charge, three times a winner in Group company in his native Germany, marked his UK and hurdling debut with a comfortable win at Newbury last December. A follow-up seems a formality. Jair Ohmsford, a progressive hurdler, who won at Folkestone in January, is the only other runner with any real form and looks the one for the forecast.

County Classic is a consistent sort and, dropping back in grade today, could go well. Victom's Chance was due to run at Newbury yesterday while Bengo dead-heated with Il Duce at Newbury on Friday and escapes a penalty here. If they start, they must hold sound claims but it's worth taking a chance on BAR GAYNE, who makes his debut over timber here. His only run came in a bumper at Uttoxeter, where he showed plenty of grit to run on and snatch victory close home. He should be well prepared for this and the trip should help him score here.

Torrid Kentavr has been taking on some top hurdlers recently but has won three of his four starts over fences and is not badly treated on that form. On the other hand, Game On and Chef Tartare, narrow winners last time out, are rising in the weights and will find this tougher. POLAR GUNNER has gone up a massive 13lb for his Bangor win but he came home by nine lengths despite being eased on the run-in. A repeat performance should see him score again.

COURAGE UNDER FIRE was pulled up after blundering four out at Leicester last month, but had beaten Lanmire Tower (impressive winner at Doncaster on Friday) by two-and-a-half lengths over this C&D on his previous start and can confirm the form on the revised terms. Flaming Heck is another in fair form and could earn his share of the prizemoney.
