BIENVENUE made a promising debut on Irish Champions Weekend and looks to have a good chance back in maiden company. Joseph O'Brien's filly was fourth behind King X J in a valuable sales race at the Curragh and, being by Fascinating Rock, stepping up to a mile on easy ground should suit her. From the most in-form stable in the country, Supagirl has to enter calculations after two creditable runs while Bells On Her Toes should come on from last weekend's run at Gowran where she showed potential behind a Ballydoyle-trained winner. Nawraq isn't the most consistent but the 75-rated colt has twice finished runner-up and can't be ruled out. Anything from the Paddy Twomey yard has to be accorded a second look and it will be interesting to see how strong his newcomer French Claim is in the market.

GALACTIC GREY ran a fine race when runner-up at Tipperary last month and can go one better on his third run back from a long absence. The Dark Angel gelding had recent winner Khafaaq behind him in third on that occasion and the unexposed 4-year-old can race off the same mark here. Lord McZie was behind the selection in fifth at Tipperary before finishing third when sent off a well-backed favourite at Cork the following day. He was nearest at the finish over six furlongs then and stepping up to a mile cold be a good move. By contrast, Silent Performance is coming back in trip after getting off the mark at Down Royal as is her stable companion Sheila, who is 3lb well-in after going close at Gowran Park last weekend.

KOJIN wasn't at his best at Roscommon last time but is the highest rated of those that have a mark and has a good chance on the pick of his form. The Siyouni gelding was beaten only fractions when third to subsequent winner Ben Siegel at Ballinrobe in July and his second in a Galway Festival maiden later that month was another solid effort. Prince Hector had a recent handicap winner back in fourth when touched off by stable companion Fictitious Lady at Bellewstown and is an obvious contender on that form. Powerful Don was third to a useful type at Cork and that form was boosted when the fourth home won a maiden in good style earlier in the week. Colin Keane is a noteworthy booking for Rivers of Tay and the Dark Angel gelding Dante's Pass is another newcomer to bear in mind.

There should be enough of a cut in the ground for RAMIRO and the locally-trained gelding will be primed for his attempt to repeat last year's victory in this race. He's forgiven a moderate run at the Curragh and is better judged on the form of his penultimate start when just holding on from Wee Pablo at Limerick. The latter, who has enjoyed a profitable season including a course and distance success in June, meets the selection on the same terms and has obvious claims as well. Cisco Disco ran poorly at Killarney but is a generally reliable handicapper who has also won at this venue while Is That Love, whose tally of five handicap wins this year is a fair achievement in such a competitive environment, showed that he's still on a winnable mark when touched off earlier in the week at Fairyhouse. Thunder Rain was an eye-catching fourth in a big field at the Curragh last month and is another for any shortlist.

VERY EXCELLENT can get his turn on the Flat. He is a former winner of a Bellewstown maiden hurdle who posted his best effort to date on the level when beaten by a neck over a similar trip in Galway. He goes to work from a good draw in stall one and gets first-time cheekpieces. There are a whole host of dangers including Church Mountain who was the horse that beat Very Excellent in Galway and has prospects off 6lb higher. Recent winners Ideal Pal and Khafaaq have to go on the shortlist while Pita Pinta could improve particularly if the rain arrives. Oneiroi and Lord Park will rightly have their supporters.

PORT SUNLIGHT appeals with Jake Coen taking 10lb off her back. She didn't cut much ice in Listed class at Leopardstown, but is better assessed on her previous couple of handicaps at Ballinrobe and Galway. Rain-softened ground is very much in her favour and she should hold a good position from stall two. She is on an attractive mark with Coen's claim factored in. Phoenix Cowboy suffered a nightmare route in the Petingo Handicap at Leopardstown over Irish Champions Weekend. If you put a line through that unplaced effort, his previous form entitles him to be bang there. Pachmena didn't have a clear run in the Curragh but finished well to be beaten half a length into second. Gavin Cromwell has booked Wesley Joyce again and his 7lb claim will be handy in this field. Monty's Way won his maiden over this trip in Roscommon. He makes his handicap debut and has a lovely light weight.

SEA APPEAL can supplement his Killarney victory. The Fastnet Rock gelding asserted to win that extended mile and three handicap by an easy three and three quarter lengths. Several winners have come out of that race and he looks well worth a step up in trip on the back of that performance. Majestic Jewel ran a remarkable race to win over two miles in Tramore after being completely detached at the start. There are no stamina concerns with her and Siobhan Rutledge claims 7lb again. Ulster Cesarewitch winner Anyonecanhaveitall loves a stamina test but his form is on better ground. Bellewstown handicap hurdle winner Broken Ice reverts to the Flat off a mark of 64 and Conor McNamara claims 5lb from him, however, there are also ground doubts with rain in the forecast.
