Cockney Bob doesn't know how to run a bad race and his Bath third two starts ago, behind subsequent Woodcote Stakes second Riverboat Springs, reads well. However, he failed to build on that run as hoped at Kempton on Tuesday and it may instead pay to take a chance on the less exposed DOUBLE POINT. The latter built on a fair Goodwood debut when second at Salisbury last time and looks on an upward curve. Money for Richard Hannon's newcomer, Cricklewood Green, would also be notable.

Decent Fella was beaten by under a length over 7f off this mark at Catterick two weeks ago but over this longer trip, preference is instead for DARNATHEAN. Paul D'Arcy's charge struck over 1m at Brighton last month and followed up over 7f here earlier in the month, appearing to thrive on the fast ground and scoring by three lengths. A 7lb rise demands further improvement but in his present mood he's taken to complete the hat-trick. Menelik is entitled to strip fitter for his all-weather spin here latest and is another considered.

HOWYADOINGNOTSOBAD is best when scorching off from the front and trying to show his rivals a clean pair of heels. A high draw and a small field looks ideal for his style of racing so he may be able to go one better than when a nose second over this C&D last summer (albeit now 4lb higher) if Dorback doesn't take him on up front. Jarrow has slipped to an attractive mark and is respected now eased in grade while the booking of Adam Kirby for Bubbly Ballerina is interesting. She was never positioned to challenge at Chester last time and can be forgiven the run.

CORNISH BEAU showed no ill effects of an absence when notching on his seasonal return over C&D earlier in the month. Richard Newland's six-year-old has a 5lb rise to overcome today but could be fresher than the majority of his rivals and may be capable of notching a quick double. HECTOR'S CHANCE returned from a break with a creditable Kempton third over 1m3f earlier in the month and should appreciate this drop in grade this evening. Heather Main's four-year-old is back on his last winning mark and has an obvious chance if his last effort can be built upon.
