Whitcombe Flyer should win a race in due course and blinkers replace the cheekpieces he wore last time. However, this is quite tough and there will be other days for him. Rievaulx Valentino ran respectably last time, but that was at Southwell. Atephobia was well beaten in a claimer last time, so this might just be the day for WEE BUNS after some fair recent efforts. Watch the market for any support for Martingrange Boy.

Nusoor could easily win this if having one of his better days, while Fustaan looked promising for Marcus Tregoning but showed absolutely nothing for new connections last time. There is nothing like backing a specialist on an all-weather surface and DESERT OPAL fits that bill really well. There are very few doubts about him running a solid race and he should be bang there at the end. Pegasus Dancer is respected but has not won for some time.

Gentleman's Deal usually carries all before him on the all-weather and only just lost out to Grand Passion last time in the Listed Churchill Stakes. There is little to choose between them and, for that matter, Millville. However, it might be worth taking the odds on TROUBADOR, who has done well on this surface since returning from a spell in Hong Kong.
