ALONG is impeccably bred and, while entitled to come on for her racecourse debut, the Smart Strike filly could be worth siding with. She is a half-sister to last year's Oaks runner-up Wonder Of Wonders and a positive market move would suggest she is showing all the right signs at home. Aidan O'Brien isn't short of firepower in what could prove to be a highly informative contest and it would be foolish to rule out his two other debutants, Betterbetterbetter, the mount of Joseph O'Brien, and Seducing, who is a half-sister to 2002 Guineas/Oaks heroine Kazzia. Dermot Weld's French Hen is a half-sister to last year's dual Classic winner Blue Bunting and is another to keep a very close eye on in the market, while the latter's stable companion Princess Highway raced once last term and may have improved over the winter.
A maiden packed with appealingly bred fillies from top yards, Betterbetterbetter catching the eye more than most with Joseph O'Brien up. Stable-companion Seducing makes almost as much appeal, while Princess Highway is expected to prove a different proposition with the benefit of her debut behind her.

TAIGAN shaped really well in defeat on his debut last summer and may well have come on leaps and bounds over the winter months. The stoutly-bred son of Kingmambo was beaten just a head by his stablemate and subsequent Group 3 runner-up, After, last term and any improvement on that level of form should make him hard to beat. Azamata was placed twice as a juvenile and is also taken seriously with another winter on his back, while the selection's stablemates Chicago and Hail are other interesting contenders. Badged and Calgacus represent highly respected stables and are too unexposed to ignore.
A tough maiden to get a handle on with several once-raced horses from good yards taking part. Azamata sets the standard judged on 2-y-o form though and could well progress again at this trip, so he's the selection. The Aidan O'Brien-trained pair Taigan and Hail may give him most to do.

FURNER'S GREEN was beaten just two lengths behind Power in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh in September and that piece of form looks the best on offer. His final run of the season over this trip can be forgiven on heavy ground and, if ready to roll on his reappearance, the 113-rated son of Dylan Thomas is expected to take some stopping. It would be a slight concern that Light Heavy is now fitted with a tongue-tie and cheekpieces on just his second career start but Jim Bolger's colt is respected nevertheless having gone down fighting at Navan in October. The improving Honourable Emperor arrives on the back of two Dundalk victories and although forced to concede weight to most, he should have an edge in terms of fitness.
Furner's Green was only beaten 2 lengths into fourth in the Group 1 National Stakes last September and a reproduction of that form should see him make a successful reappearance. Alkazim, with a stable that made a good start to the turf season last weekend, can take second ahead of Galway maiden winner Hit The Jackpot.

The first handicap event of the evening can go the way of ECLIPSEOFTHEHEART. The daughter of Shamardal is Tommy Stack's sole runner on the card and his new recruit was in fine form when last seen in the autumn. She signed off for James Fanshawe by landing two 7f Kempton events and a big run is expected on her return. Fairy Wing arrives on a hat-trick and should go close again despite the burden of a 5lb penalty for his latest all-weather win, while veteran Hard Rock City boasts C&D winning form and is another for the shortlist.
Tommy Stack has enjoyed plenty of success with Lolly For Dolly and her half-sister, Eclipseoftheheart, can get off to a winning start for the yard, clearly on the up and now ridden by a promising 7 lb claimer. Barrow Island looks to have plenty going for him and is a big threat, along with McMonagle.

Purple has been allotted what looks a lenient mark for her handicap bow following three maiden efforts over 1m last term and, with underfoot conditions in her favour, it would be dangerous to write her off now stepped up to 1m2f. Slight preference, however, is for TAWARIYKA, who arrives here in good spirits. The Forest Wildcat filly was beaten some way behind Purple at Navan on her debut but Aidan O'Brien's charge had benefitted from two prior runs and the selection gives the impression that she has improved markedly since. Tannery is another to keep an eye on.
There is a slight doubt about Money Spider's stamina for this 10f trip but that looks the only chink in her armour and she can take advantage of a 7 lb lower mark than when last seen. Stablemate Tannery could give her most to think about, while the in-form Jim Bolger has an interesting runner in the shape of Asteroid Belt.

Glor Na Mara returned with a good third over 6f at the Curragh on Sunday and the former Phoenix Stakes runner-up must be on the shortlist, but he is untried beyond 7f and it could pay to take a chance on ROBIN HOOD. Aidan O'Brien's colt hasn't been seen since finishing third to Casamento in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes in September 2010 but although he has clearly had his problems, he wouldn't need to be at his very best to make a winning return in this company. Jazz Girl signed off 2011 with a double and the lightly-raced four-year-old is open to further progress this year, so cannot be ruled out in this tougher event.

Leah Claire was last seen going very close in a valuable hurdle race here in January and looks feasibly treated on her Flat return, while Regal Tramp shaped like further would suit when scoring in good style over 1m4f at Dundalk on Friday but he has yet to strike on turf, a comment that also applies to fellow recent all-weather winner Sky Pilot. Conversely, PARAMOUNT went close over 2m on Polytrack latest but should relish the return to grass, on which all seven (five on the Flat) of his wins have come, and he looks weighted to run a big race.
