THERE YOU GO had contested some fairly decent maiden hurdles, finishing down the field behind Anibale Fly and Balko Des Flos, before he was placed in a bumper at Downpatrick behind Bel Sas. The son of Milan has the assistance of Barry Geraghty in the saddle for the first time and with the Jessica Harrington yard in excellent form of late, he looks capable of picking up this maiden hurdle before going in handicaps. Free Scorpion had some fair form in the summer, including when chasing home Bachasson at Sligo last July, while Pakman was third in a competitive handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival and has claims in a much weaker contest here.

Bright New Dawn showed what he is capable of when winning impressively off a big weight at the Punchestown Festival in a handicap chase, but he isn't the most reliable individual so preference goes to VAL DE FERBET, who has been in fine form since the switch from Willie Mullins to Andrew McNamara, including when second to Woodland Opera in a competitive race at Punchestown last time. Conditions here suit the son of Voix Du Nord and he appears the most reliable sort in this contest. Hidden Cyclone returns hurdling and the step up in distance should suit, so he would be a huge danger if converting his chase form back over timber.

THE GAME CHANGER will relish this drop in grade today, having chased home Douvan at the Aintree and Punchestown festivals (fourth behind him at Cheltenham), and he has already won a Grade 3 over 2m4f. Viconte Du Noyer was third in the Grade 3 Red Rum Handicap at Aintree from a mark of 144 last month and on that evidence, he is a player today. Clarcam would arguably be the one to beat on the pick of his form, but he has not been at his best for a while and Brian Cooper sides with the selection. Maggio won at Aintree recently but the drop in trip is a slight concern.

Federici arrives here in great form following back-to-back wins in March and April and, while the last of those victories came over hurdles, he was an impressive winner over the larger obstacles the time before. Top weight First Lieutenant did not get past the second fence in the Grand National at Aintree but he was third in the Hennessy Gold Cup from just a 6lb lower mark. BALLYADAM APPROACH won a couple of big handicaps in April 2015 and put in a huge effort to finish third in the Irish National in March. From a 2lb higher mark, he should remain competitive today and gets the nod. Kylecrue and Pass The Hat look to be decent each-way alternatives, while Heaney is well handicapped if he can rediscover his best form.

Enda Bolger can never be ignored in this sphere and BE POSITIVE probably needed the run at Punchestown last month. He unseated early on before heading back on the final day of the Festival, where the seven-year-old ran a fair race in third. That will have done him the world of good, and he's still young enough and unexposed. Hedgeinator should appreciate this track and is another who looks progressive in these type of races. Character Actor is a consistent sort and ran a superb race in March behind Salsify, almost pulling off a huge shock. He can win a race of this nature if the market principals fail to perform.

Leading Irish jumps owner Barry Connell claimed victory in this event two years ago with Ballychorus, and he looks to have a strong hand once more with PRODUCT OF LOVE making his debut under Rules for Alan Fleming. The five-year-old won a decent enough looking point-to-point last year, with Ballycrystal (second) and Admiral Kid (third) both going on to join successful UK trainers and claiming victories to boost the form. Everyday Everyhour should appreciate the better ground but probably needs a hurdle before being seen at his best under Nina Carberry, while Sliperry Serpent is another to note after enjoying the better ground on offer last time out.
