Verdict

DESERT SWIRL is one of those rare stayers able to genuinely quicken up, and he now races more alertly as well in the early stages. This is a tougher test though and GOTHIC must have a chance of getting revenge. COLTRANE is smart and may now be sharper second up after a break, so also merits respect. PUTNEY FLYER has a claim much lower down the weight scale.
