Verdict

DIGBY could reward followers. He has come in for support and has run decent races, so this could be the race for him. There are first-timers in the hunt and the betting market must be closely followed. GREEN POINT is a well-bred individual and even though it could be short, he is worth keeping an eye on. MR MOUSTACHE needed his last run and is set to make improvement. He will need to behave better at the start, however. WORLD CHAMPION has shown pace but needs to find more for the win. He has been gelded.

Verdict

BEER WITH THE BOYS's next win has been eluding him but he is back in the Western Cape and must be watched. He has drawn one and races for a yard in good form. SESAME is holding form. A 4kg apprentice claim and a decent draw should boost her chances. DIOGENES could also be dangerous with his 4kg claim. He looks a lot better than his last run from a wide gate. Stable mate IN A TIMELY MANNER made good improvement trying 1400m and may have no problem with 1600m. IGNITE THE FIRE (wide gate) and HIAWATHA GOLDBERG both ran on well last time.

Verdict

BLUE STEEL disappointed a tad after a fair penultimate run. He may go better with a change of tactics and has gate one. SOMMERSTERN has finished well in all starts. He can go one better after being beaten in a close finish. PRAIRIE DAWN is going about it the right way. He showed improved pace in his second start and if enjoying the extra should be in the firing line. Plenty with improvement to come. WALOYO YAMONI, SPANISH VERSE, BACKINTHEFASTLANE and WONDERFUL TONIGHT all need to be considered.

Good field. HANDSOME PRINCE did battle with a high-class sort last time and could show the strength of that form. But PLEASE BE TRUE took him to the wire previously and is 1.5kg better off at the weights. PLEASE BE TRUE is dropping in distance from his last start. Trainer CANDICE BASS has two decent sorts in LA PULGA and MAJOR MASTER. The former looks capable of showing up well over the distance. BOUNDLESS LOVE came in for solid support and got the job done last time. He looks well placed again and could follow up. KLEIN KAROO lacked a finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville in his last start. He looks a bit better than that and from draw one could get closer. Verdict

FORT RED had GRAVITY well beat when close up in his penultimate start. He met stronger last time when having to overcome a wide gate. If back in the right mood he could add another win to this tally. GRAVITY is looking to go one better after finding one better in his last start. He could be back to best. TRUE HORIZON also enjoyed being back at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth when runner-up behind a useful sort and should build on that run. She has drawn well to boot. TRES CHIC and AVIGNON are both capable of better and rate outside chances.
