It looks best to side with those towards the top of the weights and last year's winning trainer Nicky Henderson looks to have a strong hand with Gold Present and Might Bite. They are both relatively unexposed with just six starts over hurdles between them and they could have a few pounds in hand. TOWNSHEND was very well fancied on his debut for Willie Mullins at Fairyhouse last month, but that was a very hot contest and he found the likes of Squouateur and Mall Dini too good. In hindsight, that was a very good run and the first-time hood could bring about some improvement. A Hare Breath and Simply A Legend are also worthy of consideration.

ORBASA won a three-runner novice chase at Fontwell on his British debut last month and could be incredibly well treated going handicapping for the first time on the pick of his form in France. Golden Birthday, Chelsea Flyer and Show On The Road have all shown enough to suggest an ordinary bumper is well within their capabilities and are preferred in that order. However, WHISPERING STORM is interesting on his first run for Paul Nicholls, having finished fifth on his Punchestown debut last May. He was not given a hard time that day and is a speculative choice to improve considerably on that acceptable first run in the hope he's not in need of the race. Nicky Henderson has a superb record here so expect improvement from Walt and Tower Of Allen.
