Paul Nicholls unleashes a decent Flat performer in Watergate who cannot be dismissed, but another Flat recruit in BRAVEHEART MOVE could take the spoils. The former Sir Mark Prescott-trained handicapper won four out of seven on the level and could score for Jonjo O'Neill.
Braveheart Move and Watergate look obvious contenders for their new connections now going jumping, but Ciceron's debut third is working out well and with the strong possibility of more to come, could keep them at bay.

Mahonia has never managed to build on the form of his 13-length win over Medermit last year but was going well when falling on his chasing bow, while Dee Ee Williams was highly tried over timber and could bounce back from a lacklustre effort at Newbury last time. The giant gelding MAD MAX has suffered breathing problems in the past, but if he returns in the same form he showed over timber, he could be tough to beat.
Dee Ee Williams sets the standard over fences, but he was most disappointing behind Mad Max's stablemate Punchestowns last time, and the Nicky Henderson gelding is taken to make a winning start over fences. Fiendish Flame shouldn't be underestimated, either.

If Proud Presence handles the soft ground well he should be thereabouts based on his Ascot second, but ASHLEYS LAD went into plenty of notebooks last time and could deliver. Nick Gifford's charge didn't seem to handle the downhill section at Lingfield before staying on takingly and that experience, added to the flatter track, should give him every chance. The Minack and Alasi both boast winning form over timber, but running under penalties may make life difficult.
The Minack, Ashleys Lad and Alasi are all open to improvement, but Kennel Hill sets a high standard on a couple of recent efforts in Graded company, and will be hard to beat.

Noakarad De Verzee has shown plenty of ability in his three runs in handicaps, but keeps finding one or two too good and could do so again in ICONOCLAST. Alan Hales' nine-year-old failed to fire over fences a couple of seasons ago, but won with some ease at Bangor last time and returns to fencing off just 1lb higher than that win. Reblis ran well to fill the runner-up spot behind Doctor Pat at Newbury and has to enter the reckoning too.
Reblis and Newbay Bob should continue to give good accounts, but Iconoclast won very easily over hurdles last time and, providing his jumping holds up back over fences, he looks the one to be with.

Fenix hasn't run for over two years but is off a very handy mark if anywhere near his best, while at the other end of the handicap, Nicky Henderson's duo of Duc De Regniere and Tasheba are well worth their place on recent form. Triggerman is favoured of the Philip Hobbs duo, but CONSIGLIERE looks capable of taking an open renewal. David Pipe has kept his charge over fences since recruiting him from France, but he looks well treated on chase form and will love the ground.
Quite a few of these will appreciate the step up in trip, most notably Tasheba, but his stablemate Duc de Regniere looks well treated in handicaps and rates the most likely winner. Triggerman appeals most of the remainder.
