Ravi River is of definite interest back in claming company, having contested a decent handicap at Wolverhampton last time but this can go to CARNIVORE, who meets Tom Dascombe's charge on the same terms as he would in a handicap. The selection beat Dicoh on unfavourable terms at the aforementioned Midlands track last month and will appreciate switching back to a shorter trip. The latter has franked the form by scoring twice subsequently, while Landucci may pick up some minor place money.

Willie Haggas operates at good strike-rate with his three-year-olds here and RESPITE shaped like a sure-fire future winner when chasing home Fantasia, subsequent winner of a Group 3 and runner-up in the Fillies' Mile at Ascot. However, it's likely that her odds will be cramped and she has been done no favours by the draw. CROSS THE LINE is on a lengthy losing run but is now 9lb lower than for his last win, which was over this C&D. Moreover, Alan Jarvis' charge appeared to benefit from a more positive ride here recently when only nailed in the shadow of the post by Marmooq (Marajaa behind in sixth). The booking of Ryan Moore catches the eye and the seven-year-old can a gain a deserved victory. Pegasus Again bumped into a progressive sort in Soccerjackpot (winner again since) over C&D and should be on the premises again, while Bahiano shaped well on his reappearance at Lingfield and also merits respect.

Creshendo, who had four subsequent winners behind when making a winning debut at Goodwood last May, is an interesting contender for this decent handicap. Her ability to act on this surface has to be taken on trust, though, and ATHANIA makes plenty of appeal. Well-drawn in stall 10, she was a ready winner of a nursery on polytrack at Great Leighs last term and was not disgraced at Newmarket when last seen out. Her yard sent out a winner on Saturday, which augurs well for the wellbeing of the stable's horses. The are plenty of dangers, not least Princess Cagliari and Ben's Dream.

MEXICAN PETE should beat Irish Ballad on a line through Bold Adventure and Alan King's charge can come out on top, with apprentice Matthew Davies claiming a valuable 7lb. Mexican Pete was 13 lengths clear of the third when running Bold Adventure (received 9lb) to three parts of a length at Wolverhampton, whereas Irish Ballad was in receipt of 6lb from that rival when scoring by half-a-length at Lingfield. Cash On is an interesting contender and is next best ahead of the in-form Augustus John.

The switch to handicap company and the step up this trip suited Kochanski at Wolverhampton last month when she made all to score off a 3lb lower mark, with Spring Quartert (third) and Witch Of The Wave (fourth). Open to further improvement, she should go well again but preference is for GOOD BUY DUBAI, who was not suited by the messy nature of the race in which he was fourth to Ermyn Lodge over C&D latest. He had looked progressive prior to that and is taken to reverse the placings with the second and third that day, Mekong Miss and Spring Quartet, and come out on top.
