LEGENDARY GUEST has the plum draw in stall one and has good claims on his second to Leading Edge in a sprint handicap at Doncaster last July. He should be spot-on after his February run at Southwell which followed a lengthy absence. Official ratings point towards dual winner Nchike, who hails from the in-form yard of Dandy Nicholls, but things will have to drop just right from his outside berth in stall 15. Amy Ryan takes a handy 7lb off Splash The Cash, but he is another widh a wide draw to overcome. Alan Swinbank's newcomer Just Pickles is speedily bred.

Plenty of these are fit from the jumps, but HI DANCER probably needed his recent spin in a chase at Ayr (engaged to run over fences at Wetherby on Tuesday) following a lay-off and that should have put him right for this return to Flat racing. He won an amateur' riders handicap on the level at Southwell in January and has decent claims in an open race. Aleron won over fences in the autumn and should go well, despite his advancing years, in what is basically a weak contest. Sonara failed to complete the course in three of his last four outings over jumps and more of a danger could be Mtoto's son Top Tiger - second to Safin at Southwell in February.

MIGHTY MOON won a novices' hurdle at Newcastle in January and followed up with a second to Merrydown there. He looks very fairly treated on this return to the Flat over a suitable trip and his stable was amongst the winners at the opening Doncaster fixture. River Ardeche was second to Elk Trail over hurdles here in January and also won a Southwell Flat race that month, so he is respected. Step This Way, a daughter of Giant's Causeway, has scope for further improvement, while They All Laughed is a bit more exposed but comes here in good form. The other two can't be ruled out with confidence.

Angaric wasn't in the best of form when last seen in January and is more exposed than some of these, but he is not badly handicapped and has a handy draw in stall four. Even so, If You Knew Suzy is of greater interest. While she is capable of building on her second to Ibrox in a Southwell maiden in January, she does look short of pace and may need and extra furlong or two. Topweight SPIN AGAIN has had a recent race to blow away the cobwebs and was running well enough in handicaps last summer to be given a decent chance. Hat-trick seeking Ergo looks next best.

Tiger Reigns, placed in maidens at Redcar and Newcastle last autumn, looks sure to make a bold bid, but AGENT STONE took the eye when third to Alexander Gulch in a 6f maiden at Pontefract last August and the 231-day absence may not be too big an obstacle with the Nicholls team in decent nick. Newcomer Street Spirit would not need to be anything special to make an impact in this and she has a decent enough pedigree, being by Street Cry out of a Gulch mare. Ivor Novello hasn't shown a great deal in two starts, but is open to improvement and hails from a good yard.

This second division of the maiden could be the stronger one, but AL MUGTAREB should be up to the challenge. Mark Johnston's colt is by Acclamation out of a daughter of Mister Baileys and he ran with credit on all three starts last year, ending with a third of 14 to Redding Colliery in a 7f maiden at Kempton in October. Minotaurious sets a fair standard and has plenty of experience to call on, but she has built up a tally of four seconds and one third in seven races and the suspicion is she will again find one too good. Supernoverre won a 12f handicap at Kempton last time to prove that his earlier Lingfield claiming win was no fluke. The handicapper has been easy on him, but the form probably does not amount to anything outstanding and Hugh Morrison's raider MILEMILIA is of greater interest. It would be no surprise to see Bold Bomber step up on his previous form now he goes handicapping but it could be worth siding with FASHION ICON who put in a much improved effort at Southwell earlier this month going down narrowly to Taurus Twins Fasliyanne has been knocking on the door on the all-weather and will not be far away if translating that form to turf.
