This represents the perfect opportunity for FLOKI to open his account following an encouraging opening hurdles display at Warwick last month. He did well to finish third on that occasion following a hit-and-miss round of jumping and a cleaner effort here combined with an extra two furlongs could be the key to success. Fortified Bay has some smart hurdles form in the book from his time with Alan King and is interesting following a long time off the track starting life with Jennie Candlish, while the pick of Buddha Scheme's efforts so far would give him place claims.

The enigmatic FLOWERY has proved a revelation since switched to fences, handling a 10lb rise in the ratings when backing up his impressive Sedgefield success with a win at Wetherby last time. He has been handed a further 9lb hike for that, but the progressive seven-year-old is backed to take that in his stride and further enhance his growing reputation. Sleep Easy has some useful form to his name over both timber and fences and has been given a real chance in this by the assessor, while Ain't My Fault was running a respectable race at Carlisle before coming to grief latest and could throw his hat in the mix if none the worse for that tumble.

FLOWERY has been a revelation for Iain Jardine and it's not hard to envisage him making all and extending his unbeaten chase sequence to 3. Sleep Easy lacks the size for fences and his lower chase mark looks justified, so Ain't My Fault is feared most given his Irish point background.

MCGROARTY posted a solid effort in defeat when third in a Listed handicap chase at Ayr last month and is expected to give a good account, having since been dropped 1lb, now eased in class. Monsieur Co was sixth behind the selection latest and is rated 8lb higher than when striking at Musselburgh in February. He appears a live candidate for the silver medal, however. Yorkist, who struck off 3lb lower at Aintree in November, is also considered.

Llancillo Lord followed up on a success between the flags with a routine victory at Fakenham in this sphere 16 days ago and looks poised to go close once more, but he has to give some weight away to HARDROCK DAVIS, who looked unlucky when brought down here last month. John Dawson's mount was travelling as well as anything before that mishap and could now claim compensation. Greensalt was seventh in the Foxhunters' at Aintree but had a tough race there on testing ground.

Top Tip: Hardrock Davis (5)
Watch out for: Llancillo Lord (1)

Given that GREENSALT was placed in the 2018 Foxhunters' Chase at Aintree, it's best to assume his class will prevail here acknowledging he didn't make the same impact in the corresponding event this time round. Hat-trick seeker Llancillo Lord will give him plenty to think about and Hardrock Davis is worth considering based on the way he was shaping before being brought down here last time.
