EDGEWELL appreciated the switch back to hurdles at the start of the year, winning at Southwell and Fakenham before struggling in a series final at Musselburgh. The drop in grade represents a fine opportunity for Rebecca Menzies' gelding to bounce back on this occasion. Our Girl Sal is entitled to step forward from her fifth here last month, while Wee Alki's third at Perth gives him every chance of being in the mix.
WEE ALKI remains a maiden but has been going close of late suggesting that this step up in trip could see him off the mark. My Lady Elektra was flattered by her Listed run here but looks well treated on her last effort when returned to handicaps. She looks the pick of the Nick Alexander pair and may prove the greatest danger ahead of Edgewell who has been in fine form this year and will find this easier than his latest assignment.

HE'S A DIAMOND had valid excuses for his latest effort at Carlisle when reported not to have handled the track and is better judged on his 13-length success at Market Rasen the time before. A repeat of that performance would make him difficult to oppose. Just Oot has shown promise on both hurdle starts, although the step up in trip could be a slight concern. With that in mind, Blazing Court, a chase winner over 2m4f at Worcester, may pose the strongest threat.
JUST OOT was beaten by a trio of useful rivals last time and looks to have found a good opportunity here to get off the mark. He finished well that day suggesting that this step up in trip would deliver more and he gets weight from previous winner He's A Diamond. That rival will need to improve to defy a penalty as the form of his victory has had plenty of knocks. The biggest danger may be summer chase winner Blazing Court who showed a willing attitude last time and will appreciate this longer trip.

BENEFIT BEN's last success came in a first-time visor at Sedgefield in February when proving too strong for the opposition. The seven-year-old has run with credit since, finishing runner-up on consecutive days back at Sedgefield and Musselburgh, and the change of headgear to blinkers might yield more improvement. Show No Fear is a player off a 4lb higher mark than last month's win at Carlisle. He enters calculations along with Cage Rattler and The Three J's.
SHOW NO FEAR was a cosy winner last time and is expected to follow that up off just 4lb higher. He wasn't fully extended last time and still has plenty of mileage in his mark based on his flat form. Veteran dual purpose performer Galahad Threepwood could well be the biggest danger. A frurstrating type on a long losing run, the handicapper has continued to relent and this represents a drop in grade. Benefit Ben was outclassed last time in a better race but was in good form previously. He can't be discounted with blinkers applied for the first time.

MILAJESS hasn't finished out of the top two on any of her last five starts, with her most recent effort coming when second at Fakenham last month. The eight-year-old goes off the same mark and can continue her fine form. Winds Of Winter appears to the main threat with first-time cheekpieces applied, while the return to hurdles might aid the cause of Rory's Story.
Though she has been frustrating since her novice win BELLBIRD may be able to snap her long losing run off top weight here. She arrives in form and will appreciate this drop back in trip with a stiff finish. Maiden Winds Of Winter has proven similarly frustrating including at this venue finishing weekly. She can clearly be competitive off this mark but may have to settle for a place once more. Away She Goes improved under an ultra aggressive ride last time and could be well treated back in a handicap. She isn't dismissed in a tight contest.

LUCKIE DEVIL made a debut full of promise when finding only a long odds-on favourite too strong at Newcastle in March and should have plenty of improvement in him. The Nicky Richards-trained five-year-old looks to have been found a good opportunity and can get off the mark. Hey Buddy could only manage fifth on his first start at Warwick, but he may take a step forward. Any market confidence behind Hashtag Queen would be interesting.
This looks a match race between the once raced pair Luckie Devil and HEY BUDDY. The former has seen his runner up effort boosted in bumpers and over hurdles so will be big danger but the jockey booking on the latter catches the eye. It is Burke's only ride of the day and he looks a likely improver down in grade for a yard with an excellent record in this discipline.
