Gee Hi is entitled to improve for his Bangor hurdles debut second last month and he looks sure to give a good account but there are some interesting recruits from the flat in here. Perfect Outlook, Lyssio and Hefner all make plenty of appeal but LOOKING ON gets the nod. He had some very solid form on the level last year and the Venetia Williams yard is in terrific form at present.

Venetia Williams went close to landing this with the useful Brick Red on his hurdling bow a year ago and can go one better this time in the shape of Supreme Novices' entry Looking On. Ludlow-fourth Celtic Abbey and decent Flat recruit Hefner are a couple of likely dangers, while it would be no surprise if Arabian Heights bettered his previous hurdling efforts now tackling a sounder surface.

Last Shot has been knocking on the door and he looks sure to be on the premises once more. LOST LEGEND was certainly not disgraced on his handicap debut at Sandown last month and it is unlikely that we have seen the best of him yet. The better ground here could be ideal and he can go well today. Ussee has solid claims on the form of her Ludlow second last time and she makes the shortlist along with Alan King's handicap debutant, Dalavar. Award Winner is one to monitor as he falls back down the handicap.

THE BLACK BARON left behind some moderate chase form when scoring with plenty in hand at Fakenham last month and should remain competitive, despite a subsequent 6lb rise, now stepped back up to 3m. Basoda is 8lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Kempton in October but needs to better his recent efforts to figure. A bigger danger may be Henry Hook, who returns from a 129-day break but is lightly-raced over fences and turned in a fair effort when second at Ludlow when last sighted.

COFFEE's recent efforts leave plenty to be desired but A P McCoy returns in the saddle this afternoon now he has been dropped 3lb in the weights and an improved showing would not surprise, since he's only 4lb higher than when romping to victory at Uttoxeter in September. A market check is essential before siding with the selection however, and if negative vibes are noted, it might be worth siding with Plumpton second Engai instead. Tyrur Ted and Mubrook are other viable alternatives.

DARLEY SUN was rated as high as 109 when trained on the flat by Saeed Bin Suroor and the son of Tiger Hill shaped with plenty of promise when third at Market Rasen on his jumps bow. Pitched into a maiden for this assignment, he's expected to have learned plenty from that initial hurdling experience and should be fitter for it. Of the others, Shernando reverts to hurdles having finished runner-up in a "Jumpers' Bumper" at Lingfield in January and he'll go close along with Soixante Six.

Watch out for: Shernando (12)

Shernando should find this trip ideal and is narrowly preferred to recent Market Rasen third Darley Sun. Alan King's Soixante Six will be suited by the longer trip now hurdling and looks best of the rest.
