With Beacon Lodge and Redford better with some ease underfoot, a chance is taken on DUFF. He was only fourth behind Dunelight in a Listed heat at Wolverhampton in March and has since been a bit below par again when filling the same place at Leicester (Dunelight back in sixth this time, with Lovelace eighth), but Edward Lynam's charge often needs a couple of runs to put him right and being a Group 2 winner at this trip, he clearly has the requisite class if now fully wound up.
This could be run at a ferocious pace, with Dunelight, Duff and Kakatosi all likely to be to the fore. That could set things up nicely for Redford who can give David Nicholls a second successive victory in this race following Lovelace's success 12 months ago.

Those to have raced showed precious little first time out and this should concern the newcomers, with SPECIAL BOY selected to strike. A half-brother to the multiple Listed scorer Ezima, Godolphin's representative is likely to need more of a test in time but if his 2012 Derby entry is anything to go by, he has been showing the right signs at home. Brocklebank and Fiction Or Fact are worth noting in the betting for Kevin Ryan, but Tom Dascombe's 58,000-euro Clodovil colt Lexi's Prince is expected to give the selection more to worry about.
This has the look of an above-average maiden. Special Boy stands out on paper for a yard that, though quiet at present, has done well with 2-y-os first time up in the last couple of seasons. It could pay to stick with those newcomers hailing from stables among the winners recently though, with the expensive Mabroor narrowly preferred to Lexi's Prince.

ARCTIC COURT won like an exceptionally well handicapped animal when beating Lively Baron at Ayr last month and although hit with an 11lb hike, Jim Goldie's charge is fancied to follow up. Chepstow one-two Thelobstercatcher and Five Star Wilsham are expected to be on the scene again, while Aintree faller Son Of Flicka is another danger. Possol drops from Grade 1 company and although he's clearly had his troubles, the pick of his form entitles him to maximum respect at this level.
Plenty to consider but none appeals more than impressive Ayr winner Arctic Court, who had things sewn up a long way out there. Five Star Wilsham and Doctor Foxtrot, first and second in a solid Doncaster handicap in March, also enter the reckoning, as do Extreme Impact and the thriving mare Cloudy Spirit.

OTHERMIX is the most experienced chaser in the field and made most of the running to score at Ludlow last month. Another bold front running display would give him solid claims of success here and he is narrowly preferred ahead of Nafaath, who has showed up well in two previous runs over fences and is effective over this trip. Red Harbour and Siberian Tiger are having their first starts over fences and have a little to find with the selection based on their hurdles form.

Tartan Gunna must be considered a serious player now eased into 0-85 company and back down to his last winning mark. However, he remains vulnerable to progressive sorts and it could pay to side with BOURNE, who is lightly raced for his age and should strip fitter for his recent pipeopener at Newbury. Azimuth showed up well on his comeback over an inadequate 1m at Pontefract and is another to consider on what is only his second start in handicap company.
Bourne will be suited by a return to 1½m ideally, but looks the one to be with regardless such is the untapped potential he brings to the table. The Only Key is interesting on her first run for Jane Chapple-Hyam, while Onyx of Arabia shouldn't be ruled out either.
