HUG ME HUG ME hails from an in-from barn, has the highest turf speed figure and won nicely on the lawn here last time. Samantha B. has been knocking at the door and looks a real threat judged on her recent third in better company here, and Atlantic Frost is better than her latest run suggests.
ISLAND BOOGIE has shown enough in her first two starts to suggest a race of this nature is within her grasp. She finished third at Arlington when last seen (runner-up has won since) and looks capable of going close on her first start for new connections. Inbetween Rainbows can figure dropping down from straight maiden company and Levy Huckstress is worth noting.
WHO'S CRYING fared pretty well on her racecourse debut and, with normal improvement, can get off the mark exiting the favourable rail post. Cartiac Bypass disappointed on her latest start but has plenty of early pace and can finish much closer today, while Jovial Angel looks to improve on first-time lasix.
ORPHAN BRIGADE won his last race in good style and his early speed should ensure he has things his own way here. Rocky River came six lengths clear over 6 1/2f when winning here latest and has to be considered, while Silver Bid switches back to the main track following a moderate effort on turf and can be given a chance.
SHAKE is improving with racing and his latest effort when third over this C&D (Noah's Cat back in fourth) suggests he will not be far away this time. El Jefe revealed ability on his debut at Arlington and, with improvement expected, makes appeal
On a speed-favouring surface, BET ON JOE could put the combination of the inside post and his early pace to good use. Fitzroyal won his latest start at Arlington and must be considered on his debut for Larry Rivelli, while Ingles is another to note as he debuts for new connections, having won two of his six starts at Hawthorne.
AY YOU'RE ADORABLE went close over 1m at Arlington, over 4 lengths clear of third placed Angel High, before not going on turf latest. She will relish a return to dirt and represents an in-form barn. Play For Baroque improved notably to make the frame here when stepped up to a route trip latest and there should be more to come, while Stop A Train showed ability on her debut over 6f and is likely to have more to offer today over today's distance.
ENSIGN SLEW has not been disgraced in this grade since easily landing a modest event in June and deserves to win a race of this nature. The lightly raced Wildbutable was a smooth winner of a track and trip maiden last time and must go well along with Rock Creek Native, who comes here on a hat-trick mission.
Spotted Pearl is in cracking form, winning three out of her last four, and warrants plenty of respect on her turf debut. As do Bobs Beauty and New Secret who both scored last time out and take to grass for the first time today, but the one follow may be GUIDING STAR. Thomas Tomillo's filly confirmed her current good order with a third here on dirt latest and her last two turf outings consist of an easy win over an extended 1m at Arlington and a good effort in a higher grade than this over that same C&D.
