SALUTE THE NEWS won over this track and trip in July and has been holding his own in better company than this, finishing second in a tougher contest latest. Lashburn has been knocking on the door of late and may make an impact, while Papwasarolinbone got off the mark in maiden company last time and cannot be ruled out.
SIDEKICK drops back to a more reasonable grade after being blown away in allowance company lately, and if he can return to the form of his victory here in August, he could get back to winning ways. Medieval Trick couldn't hold on over C&D last time and may make a bold effort again, while Devil's Dust was a comfortable winner on his last start and has been given a short break to sharpen up.
Peski Bride scored in a higher grade on her penultimate start, but never looked a threat last time, while Queen Hypolita has a string of decent performances to her name, but could not hold off the attentions of SWEET CHLOE last time. Steve Klesaris' four-year-old only found one too good there and despite failing as favourite on her last three starts, she may be worth another chance here.
IMAGINE IT has had four attempts to get off the mark, but he has never been disgraced, and he may be able to use his racetrack experience to good effect here. Todd Pletcher's Clove Hitch has been working well and could challenge, while Iron Willful breezed a very quick 5f at Philadelphia and may be capable of getting amongst the principals.
Bay Marvel had been in sparkling form before something went awry at Aqueduct in April, and he may need the run here. Keys To Astro didn't handle the muddy track at Arlington and could go close if conditions are right. HONOR PRAYER was stepped up to a route and transferred to the turf here last time without success, and Angel Gutierrez's gelding can take advantage of his preferred trip and surface today.
Power Of Prayer finished a length in front of WINZALOT over 6f here last time but the latter can reverse the form today. Alan Goldberg's colt found himself embroiled in a speed duel on that occasion and not surprisingly floundered in the closing stages. A more restrained ride over today's slightly shorter trip can see him get off the mark. Kona Blend could prove the best of the newcomers.
Morine's Victory produced a lifetime best on his 18th start and first outing for Scott Lake when winning here last month. Further improvement is a possibility but BEEN WAVERING has the most solid form and he's taken to go one better than his latest second in tougher at Monmouth. Judge's Case remains in good form but has a bit to find with the selection on earlier form.
CITY WEEKEND's chances have been compromised by his outside draw but he was such an easy winner on his latest start over track and trip, he's hard to oppose here. Tedesco is more exposed but has shown the inevitable improvement since joining Scott Lake and cannot be written off, while Upscaled is another worthy of consideration.
