It could pay to stick with SAUCY BUCK who has shown improvement since his debut in March and looked on the verge of a first win when held in second on his latest outing at Ascot last week. Roodee Queen ran green on her debut but she also seems to be coming along nicely and should could pick up a race of this nature in the near future. Hollyhocks makes her racecourse bow and could be worth keeping an eye on in the betting. She is out of an unraced half-sister to smart performer Rainbow Blues, but may need further in time.
Impossible to get away from Saucy Buck, who looks to have been found a very good opportunity to get off the mark. Hollyhocks is perhaps the best option for the forecast.
A winner at 6f on firm ground. Finished 8l behind Rodrigo De Torres when fourth of 5 at 12-1 on his latest outing at Doncaster over 7f (good to firm) earlier this month.

He has won four times from 5f to 6f on good to firm and good ground. A winner at 25-1 at Newmarket over 6f (good) on his latest outing last month, beating Pastoral Player by a neck.
Mister Hughie is a leading player following his seasonal reappearance success at Newmarket last month. It was his second win over this trip but a 4lb rise may be enough to anchor him and preference is for BELOW ZERO. Mark Johnston's inmate finished a disappointing fourth of five on his last start over 7f at Doncaster but he has won previously over this distance and should appreciate the return to sprinting. Bow Beaver was well held when last sighted but had looked good last summer and might be worth a look on his appearance of the year.
Mister Hughie's Golden Jubilee entry looks fanciful at this stage but he certainly looks progressive and is confidently expected to outpoint Below Zero on these terms. Hairspray can edge Bow Beaver out in the race for minor honours.
Yet to place in four starts. Finished 10l behind Sparkling Smile when last of 6 at 16-1 on his latest outing at Beverley over 1m 2f (good to firm) last month. He is wearing cheekpieces for the first time.

Il Portico scored at Wolverhampton in March but did not perform back on turf at Pontefract recently. He was reported to be unsuited by the ground and with similar conditions expected today, it is hard to see him scoring. Preference is for MEETINGS MAN who finished two places ahead of Il Portico last time out and looks likely to appreciate the extra couple of furlongs on offer here. Richard Fahey's charge Major Pop steps back up in trip but needs to raise his game to come into contention.
Meetings Man is by far the most appealing option in a weak race. Perhaps Il Portico and Major Pop can fill the places, though only on the basis of this contest lacking strength in depth rather than any vote of confidence.
Successful twice at 1m 1f on the all-weather. Third of 12 behind Russian George beaten 2 1/2l at 3-1fav on his latest outing at Haydock over 1m 2f (good to firm) last month.

John Quinn's representative ZAPLAMATION has looked in fine form in his three races since returning from a winter break. He picked up two wins from his opening two runs of the year and then finished third over 1m2f at Pontefract last week. He hasn't finished out of the top two in his eight latest starts and looks sure to take a hand again. Danderek rates as an obvious danger and finished a creditable third at Haydock last time. He's rated 5lb higher than his winning all-weather mark but remains unexposed. Taaresh finished third on his return to turf last month and could also have more to offer.
There could be more to come from the progressive Danderek and he gets the nod ahead of Zaplamation and Taaresh.
Dam won three times at 7f and 1m.

Antarctic Desert steps back in trip after being tried over a mile on his seasonal reappearance and he is clearly more of a sprinter. Powerful Pierre looked in good heart when narrowly held over this distance at Thirsk on his first run of the year and although still a maiden after 10 starts, he should be able to claim a small affair before long. A tentative vote, however, is for one of the newcomers. OPERA CAT goes for Mark Johnston, who won this race with Tawzeea two years ago, and the 100,000-dollar purchase has a good American sprint pedigree.
Powerful Pierre sets the standard on form, ahead of Antarctic Desert, but it would be no surprise if Opera Cat proved up to make a winning start to his career in what is essentially a weak maiden.

Cheyenne Red needs to overcome a lengthy absence to score here and is now 5lb higher than his latest winning mark over C&D. He finished second at Nottingham and put in a solid effort last time out which will offer encouragement. However, it may pay to stick with APACHE RIDGE, who finished third on his return to turf at Doncaster last Friday. He hadn't had the best of spells on the all-weather and his turf form is much more impressive. Stonehaugh and Finsbury also make the shortlist.
A competitive sprint handicap. The likely strong pace on this stiff track will suit Finsbury and he is taken to get the better of Bateleur who, like the selection, made an encouraging reappearance recently. Course-specialist Guest Connections is also feared.
