Verdict

An Open Maiden event and all are dropping to 1000m. LOU LOU ran a fair race last time but will need to get going sooner. She has gate No 1 to boost her chances. Watch out for MY DEAR FRIEND who brings Highveld form into the race. She has also run well in the Western Cape and needs to be taken seriously. TASK FORCE ran a slightly disappointing race last time but is back on the Poly and should be at his peak. SAUDI SWEEP and ROY'S BLOSSOM have both shown enough to be right there at the finish.

Verdict

BRIGITTE ANNE was caught late in her first try over 1450m on the Highveld. The drop to 1400m could do the trick if she takes to the Polytrack. She has the speed for it. Another with good pace is BLUE STEEL who has been knocking hard at the door. He can finally go one better. WINDING POWER took a while to get into it last time but did stay on well at the wire. He will need to find a bit more to win but the longer trip should suit. GREEN COMMANDER could be the dark horse on Poly debut. He showed some potential in the Western Cape. OWNER OF CREATION can earn again.

VAANS SPIRIT drifted in the betting on debut but made good progress in the closing stages of the sprint and could be a big improver. She is bred to get the distance. LILTING SONG makes her debut after racing in the Western Cape. She has draw No 1 and a decent run can be expected. Watch out for FUTURE PROSPECT who is well bred, being by Futura out of a Jet Master mare. She has not shown much but may relish the surface. CALI BULLET needs to find a bit more for the win. She has shown signs of potential. PRAISE DE LA REY can't be ignored as she is honest.

Verdict

Competitive. WORLD OF OUR OWN is a little tough to follow. But he has run well over the track and trip and must have a say. KING'S ISLAND is holding form and looks a threat back over his best distance. RECORD HIGH has done little wrong of late and he has a decent draw for a change. CHEERSCHEERSCHEERS ran on well to win his Poly debut and is one to watch in his first start for a new yard. He gave the impression he would get better with time and he has been off for a while. EL REY VIENE, NEXT OF KIN and FAIRE ADVANTAGE can pop up in this.

Verdict

IZIBULO has been on a roll and won her last two in a row over 1400m. Now in top form she looks worth another try over 1600m. Stablemate SANBEENEE wasn't disgraced when taking on males in her last start. She has drawn well and is back to her best distance. Soqrat filly PEGGY SUE SHAKE came on nicely in her last start to win easily. She could confirm the improvement in this company. SAINT BRIGID had excuses last time. She won a nice race before that and could prefer the switch to Poly. LA MADDALENA ran a bit below par after a rest but can't be ignored.

Verdict

ISIVIVANE is in good form. He wasn't disgraced finishing not far off top-class King Pelles last time and should show the strength of that form. IMPERIAL POWER ran on too late when beaten 1.35 lengths the last time by ISIVIVANE but the longer distance could work in his favour. SUNDANCE KID won the last time he raced over the course and distance. He was only just touched off by ISIVIVANE subsequently and could take it to the wire again. TROIS TROIS QUATRE may relish being back on a track he enjoys and needs to be watched.

If THISISWHATITMEANS is still in the form that saw him win his last four races in a row then he could be dangerous even if carrying 63kg. GIMMETHEGOODLIFE is another with good form and jumps from gate No 1 so could steal it. But there are light weights who should have big claims. MAGIC SURPRISE won easily last time and prior finished not far off SOHO STAR. He is weighted to turn the form around. RED BOMBER may be the dark horse on Poly debut. SOHO STAR was impressive but will need to win from the widest stall again. GOOD TRAVELLER is on a roll but also drew wide.

Verdict

The two three-year-old fillies, HATHIGHWAYTOTHESKY and TLADI MOTHWANA, could fight it out. The former had things go wrong but won with a bit in hand last time. She could be hard to catch if enjoying the Poly. TLADI MOTHWANA won her debut in style but was all at sea on her Poly debut. She should know more about it now and this looks a better distance. SHE'S A MACHINE is well versed over the course and distance. She has drawn well and should test her younger counterparts. POURSOMESUGARONME and WINTER PASSION must be considered for minor money.
