Verdict

Not a strong field to start but players may find plenty value. CAPTAIN'S ROSY showed good pace over this distance on turf and could keep rolling now back on poly. CAPULET'S HEART has similarly decent form and jumps from a good gate as well. Her last race was over too far and she finished out the money and hence might jump at a good price considering this field. INDIGO MOON looks held by CAPULET'S HEART on her last run but tries blinkers after a rest and her previous form is decent. LOTUS BLOSSOM ran poorly on debut but was supported and can improve. More can improve, suggest watching them all in the pre-race preliminaries before having a solid bet.

Verdict

SET THE DATE ran out a fluent winner after behaving at the start last time, justifying strong betting support. She is improving and should make a strong impression on handicap debut, especially with a 4kg apprentice claim. NOEMI is costly to follow but she had valid excuses after a rest last time and in any case is at her best over today's minimum distance. HER ROYAL MAJESTY gave signs she was nearing her speedy best and from draw No 2 could keep them at bay. Her 4kg claim is significant. YAAS has the best of the draws and has battled stronger at times so needs to be taken seriously. ROYAL VIEW and CERSEI are capable of upsetting.

Verdict

EAST COAST STAR wasn't disgraced on her turf debut at Scottsville. It's not easy first time at that course, but back on poly where she impressed in her first outing she rates the one to beat. CAPTIVE GOLD ran well over further but then lost form. She showed speed over further last time, suggesting a try over shorter could do the trick with this well-bred sort. CAPTAIN'S DRIFT ran no kind of race on local debut but did show something in the Cape before that so is entitled to improve. AMBLE INN could be the big improver with cheekpieces fitted. GIRL FROM IPANEMA and IMPERIAL SEAL can run into the money.

Verdict

Toughest race on the day and it could pay go the field in exotic bets. SHEIK'S STORM was eye catching last time and now has a 4kg apprentice claim. If getting going in time she can add another winning notch to her belt. DARK MISTRESS is coming along nicely for a stable that went through a virus and is now on the mend. She is getting better with each start but along with HOT MONEY and CALL ME TONIGHT has to deal with a wide draw. GINGERSPATHTOGLORY fought off TAC IT TWICE when suddenly making massive improvement. She can confirm but TAC IT TWICE and NOBLE PRINCESS did good work in that and could turn the form around.

Verdict

STRIKEITLIKEAMATCH ran a fair race on local debut and is open to further improvement. While he has drawn wide, he is weighted to give STAND BY ME and ALPHAMIKEFOXTROT much harder treatment. Stable has been in good form. STAND BY ME also wouldn't be winning out of turn as his yard has been sending out winners, but watch out for stablemate ROCKET RHUMBA who won his maiden in good style. He will enjoy an even faster pace and could pick them off one by one. BRIGHT FLAME also did good work in his last race and if back to his strong earlier sand form may make them all eat dust. ROY'S MAGIC could finally hit form again. Open.

Verdict

IBUTHO lived up to his reputation, decimating his field when finally realising what it is all about. The form line has already produced a winner and IBUTHO should go from strength to strength. Only negative is that he goes further and will need the race run to suit. VIKING RED has no problems with this distance. In fact, he could be best over this course and distance. He looks the biggest threat, even though not jumping from the best of draws. Stablemate ROCKY COAST is hard to follow as it has been an age since he won but he has been giving signs he can pop up. SECRET DYNASTY is also capable of scoring.

Verdict

GALWAY won in good style and could be a Polytrack specialist in the making. This is a tougher test and there are stronger rivals so should have his work cut out. COLOUR MY FATE is getting better as he matures and may be ready to fulfil the potential he showed in features as a juvenile. The longer trip on the poly could also be what CAPTAIN ELLIODOR is looking for. He showed ability last season and has been brought along steadily of late. Could make sudden improvement.
