Sophies Trophy confirmed the promise of efforts behind the likes of Oscar Whisky and Lush Life at Plumpton last Monday, while I've Been Framed has also kept good company, but whether both can successfully concede weight to KAUTO THE ROC is questionable. His sixth to Qaspal reads well in light of the winner's subsequent Imperial Cup victory and Alan King lowers the six-year-old's sights. Latin America's two course wins earned him a crack at the Champion Bumper last year and he will strip fitter for his recent return.
It wouldn't come as a big surprise if bumper winners Battle Group and Latin America fared better than previously over timber. However, it's probably best to concentrate on those with previous form over hurdles and Kauto The Roc can make the most of the 7 lb he receives from previous winners I've Been Framed and Sophies Trophy.

Philip Hobbs enjoyed an excellent Cheltenham week and can continue his momentum here with PRINCE TAIME. A more than useful hurdler, he is taking time to adjust to fencing but is a class above these on his best efforts. Midnight Chase arguably has the pick of the chasing form on offer and made the frame at the Festival at this time last year. He is the chief threat because Amore Mio's jumping isn't proven and he lost his way over timber anyway.
Neither Mindight Chase or Prince Taime have really convinced with their jumping over fences to date, but it's still likely this will develop into a match between the pair, with narrow preference for the former. Amore Mio is the only other one who can be given a realistic chance.

This is a big drop in class for KANAD. This time last week he was in contention for the Imperial Cup and was in the process of running a decent race when he was hampered. He should prove too strong for these but Irish import Perfect Reward actually comes out best at the ratings, although he hasn't been seen since last summer. His stablemate Alrafid isn't without a chance, while Helen Wood was keeping Listed company in 2008 and her recent return is entitled to bring her on.
A difficult race to predict, as it's hard to know how much ability a few of these retain, but it could be worth taking a chance that Kanad still has enough to win one of these, this a marked drop in class from the Imperial Cup. The Gary Moore-trained pair Alrafid and Perfect Reward are others to consider.

Killfinnan Castle appeared to be in the handicapper's grip at Leicester, but he had Kappelhoff back in third when scoring here prior to that and reopposes on just 6lb worse terms. Honour's Dream deserves a change of fortune after hitting the crossbar the last twice but he has a drought stretching back over two years so the nod is given to NORMANDY LANDINGS, as his latest fourth at Folkestone was just his fourth start over fences and he has more scope for improvement than his rivals.
Normandy Landings is still relatively unexposed and could be the answer in a poor contest, the step up in trip likely to be in his favour. Honour's Dream could pose the biggest danger to the selection if he can cope with a third race in a short space of time.

COMPRIMARIO was beaten when suffering trouble in running in a Sandown race won by Qaspal but he showed up well for a long way there and this slight drop in trip can enable him to regain the winning thread. Spare Me left previous efforts behind when third last time and a similar effort would put him right in the mix. Harcourt is another who performed better than his price suggested he would last time but course regular Near The Water has to put a moderate display behind him.
Near The Water wasn't at his best last time but his earlier efforts give him leading claims in a weak race. Harcourt and Spider Boy are others to consider.

Wiesenfurst is creeping up the weights, despite failing to shed his maiden tag. With that in mind, it's worth opposing him with JACKSONS PIER, who got closest to Overlaw at Hereford and the winner has boosted that form by going in again since. Littleton Aldor was clear of the remainder when runner-up at Chepstow last time, but spare a thought for Jose Bove because his sole career success came when he was fresh and he could be rejuvenated by joining Henrietta Knight.
Wiesenfurst would almost certainly have won last time had he not clouted the last and can gain compensation in a dreadful contest. Littleton Aldor and Jacksons Pier are also respected.

FLEUR DE VASSY left all known form behind when stepping into handicap company at Huntingdon and that third-placing hinted that better is still to come.
