WORLD OF DREAMS showed a useful level of form in bumpers last season, winning twice before not being disgraced when finishing fifth in Grade Two company at Aintree in April. The Anthony Honeyball-trained gelding returns after a wind operation and can make the perfect start to his hurdling career, with Gold In Doha possibly set to give him most to do, having performed respectably when third in a Kempton bumper on his racecourse debut in February. Hititi showed ability when trained in France and may also get involved.

WORLD OF DREAMS was talented enough to win a couple of bumpers last season and on physique and pedigree he should do even better over hurdles. He's had a wind op ahead of this return and is expected to outclass these. Those with previous hurdles experience don't really inspire, so Gold In Doha is second choice.

NIKAP may hold a slight edge having scored with plenty in hand on her stable debut at Ffos Las eight days ago. The seven-year-old reached a mark of 125 over fences for her previous yard and can get the better of Will Victory, who raced in useful company for a large part of last season and is respected now switching stables.

The Dan Skelton-trained FLOKI looked a hurdler going places when last seen in 2019, showing progressive form despite looking far from the finished article. Clearly things haven't gone smoothly for him in the meantime but the seven-year-old may just have too much class for his rivals on his return to the track, with Earth Business expected to pose his most serious threat now switching to handicaps. Alrightjack has largely proven consistent and can do best of the rest.

DAME DU SOIR was switched back to hurdling after just one start over the larger obstacles last season and, although she has some questions to answer, if she can reproduce the form of her first three starts over fences she could have a big chance in this contest. Shut The Box produced some solid form last campaign and, if he can put a moody display at Kempton behind him, he will have strong claims as well, while On The Wild Side is another to note.

Imphal won well at Ludlow last time and, if he can run to that level again, he will have a live chance. However, the lightly-raced THE TIN MINER gets the vote. His four starts last season yielded a win and two seconds, as well as a solid display in a strong-looking affair at Worcester on his final start of the campaign, a performance that would probably be good enough to take this contest. Good News is no forlorn hope if he is over his fall at Plumpton.
