This should go the way of the progressive MARK'S ON ATTACK, who has taken a while to get the hang of things but was a close second over C&D in a similar contest last time and can go one better tonight. Mr. Windjammer, also second in this grade last time, looks the danger while One Little Secret can go well.
The Bruce Anderson pair, Star Of State and Wicked Retort, has chances here while You Sure was second in this grade three starts ago but seems to have lost his way. It's worth taking a chance on DADDY EDDIE, who just missed out in a $10k claimer at Mountaineer last time and has form in tougher races than this.
Daniel Conway is double handed here and his duo, Neverabettercity and Rises The Phoenix, must both be respected. Slight preference, however, is for BROCCO VALLEY, a ten-time course winner whose recent effort at Aqueduct was arguably too bad to be a true reflection of his ability.
Nadia Mist and NOTEVENTHESHADOW both take significant drops in class tonight and it would be no surprise to see them fight out the finish. Marginal preference is for the Anthony Ferraro-trained gelding, who was second on his only previous outing over this trip. Puttinonthebling may prove next best.
DANZAWAY has not proved the most consistent but won a $15k claimer two starts ago and takes a huge drop in class tonight. He's worth another chance. Pacific Sun has form in this grade and looks the main danger but Watralragingcowboy is another consistent sort and can't be ruled out.
ROYAL CHAMPAGNE stayed on in determined fashion when landing the spoils over four and a half furlongs here last month and, with this step up in trip not a concern, she gets the confident nod to follow up tonight. A. P. Glitter won in gritty fashion here latest and is unlikely to go down without a fight, while Danzeagle is another that warrants respect.
UPPER LEVEL looked out of her depth when finishing well down the field at Belmont latest, but she has much less on her plate this evening and will be well fancied to get off the mark. Di's Always A Lady has finished in the frame on her three latest outings and should go close once again, while Xciting Kitty is another worthy of consideration.
D C'S THUNDER was doing all his best work in the latter stages when finishing second over 5f here latest and could prove the one to be on stepped up in trip this evening. Majestic Karakorum was narrowly touched off here last time out and rates the biggest threat, while Nirka Huertas' Token Dem is another that cannot be written off.
SUCCESSFUL SECRETS was far from disgraced when finishing third here last month and, with a slightly easier task ahead of him this evening, he could prove far to strong for these rivals. Cash Me Out ran well here latest and can make his presence felt once again, while Char is another for the short-list.
