Having faced some tall assignments over hurdles when under the tutelage of Joseph O'Brien in Ireland, REINA DEL MAR should find these calmer waters much more to her liking. A reproduction of her latest fifth in a 15-runner affair at Leopardstown could prove good enough on her stable debut for Tim Vaughan. The biggest threat may emerge from Do It Like A Dude, who offered something to work with on his third-placed Rules bow at Fontwell last month. Sure To Please looks best of the remaining trio.
This looks a match race between REINA DEL MAR and Do It Like A Dude. The latter is a point winner who shaped with promise behind a useful rival on his hurdle debut but may be vulnerable to the more experienced opponent here. The selection remains a maiden but was highly tried in Ireland and her Listed effort sets a clear standard. She is best fogiven her latest run where she went too fast and can make a winning stable debut here.

Having justified favouritism at Newton Abbot in April, Puddlesinthepark warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 9lb hike from the assessor demands more from the seven-year-old and he may be worth taking on with stablemate TO BE SURE. The son of Sulamani found only a subsequent winner too strong at Fakenham 45 days ago and an unchanged mark might prove lenient. Mistymal and Unspeakable are others of interest.
This could be fought out by the Evan Williams pair at the top of the weights. Puddlesinthepark was an impressive winner last time so is respected but that form has had knocks and the quicker surface here may not be in his favour. It will suit stablemate TO BE SURE who returned to form last time pulling clear with a course specialist and given that rival has won again since it's fair to say he looks well treated off an unchanged mark. Of the others Unspeakable looks the biggest threat arriving in form on favourable quick ground.

Gavin likely found his follow-up bid at Sedgefield 23 days ago coming too soon and he must enter calculations reverting to the scene of his latest victory. However, it could be worth taking a chance on handicap debutant LINDEN LANE, who posted his best effort to date when runner-up at Newton Abbot last month. An opening mark of 103 looks workable for the five-year-old and a breakthrough victory could be on the horizon. Irish raider Queenie St Clair is also noted.
Though GAVIN was turned over at very short odds last time he did have valid excuses in that the race came a bit soon after his previous victory and he went too fast early. He's been freshened up and could be tough to peg back here. Queenie St Clair has been highly tried on both sides of the Irish Sea and is potentially thrown in on her Graded form. She looks the biggest danger ahead of Linden Lane who has been steadily progressing over hurdles and has been given a lenient opening mark.

Getuptheyard has to make the shortlist after being caught close home to go under by a head at Uttoxeter, especially as he's due to go up 3lb in the near future. FERRET JEETER showed improved form with a tongue-tie to win by 10 lengths at Fontwell two starts ago and was a short-priced favourite when falling at the second hurdle at the same track last time. He could prove tough to beat with a clear round of jumping, while C&D second Jack's Jury and the long absent Talk Of The Moon are others to consider.
FERRET JEETER got the better of Inspector Lynley on his last completed start and can make amends here for his recent spill. The step up to 3m should suit and he's open to plenty of further progression. The re-opposing rival could get much closer though as he met trouble last time and wasn't given a hard time on that reappearance over an inadequate distance. The consistent Getuptheyard can complete the places behind the front pair.

YOU SAY NOTHING ended last season with wins over this trip at Lingfield and Leicester and, boasting a C&D victory off 13lb higher in May 2023, he is fancied to make all to come home in front again. Pittsburg was beaten a length and a half off his current rating at Market Rasen in April and is entitled to get into the mix, while Lady Gwen may improve for her comeback third at Stratford.
YOU SAY NOTHING has impressed with his jumping in his last couple of victories and is expected to defy a further 6lb rise and complete a hat trick here. He had a next time out winner in behind that day so still likely has mileage in his mark. Pittsburg completed a good ground double earlier in the spring and could provid the biggest challenge on his return from the flat while at a bigger price Yorgunnabeplucky is also of interest. He looks the stable first string on jockey bookings and is open to plenty of improvement now chasing.

Land Afar has his first start for Daniel Bourne here and, if he can be brought back to the level of his Huntingdon second in January, a mark of 117 gives him every chance. Mohawk Chief remains a maiden over hurdles, but he was only beaten half a length at Market Rasen last time and is interesting on his handicap debut. However, TWIST OF FATECATCH gets the vote. He stayed on well for third on his handicap bow at Worcester and any improvement could see him land the spoils in what looks a slightly easier race.
The clear pick here is the unexposed TWIST OF FATECATCH. He beat very little when easily landing a maiden in the spring and finished well behind a couple of in form rivals on his handicap debut. The runner up that day has won over fences since so he should be up to defying an unchanged mark. D'jo Dela Barriere has returned to form of late including at this venue and if the ground isn't too quick should remain competitive whilst Mohawk Chief is open to plenty of improvement judged on his flat form so is also respected.
