KING IN LOVE has progressed well this year, winning at Naas on his penultimate start, and should appreciate the drop back to 2m having been caught close home over 2m3f last time. Solsbury Hill won an 18-runner Leopardstown maiden over this trip and the form of his subsequent third to Mercury Mission and Imadpour at Wexford has worked out very well since. Chosen Diamond relished testing conditions when scoring over 2m4f here earlier this year and the form of his second to Dunboyne at Navan last month has been well advertised. Stuntman Steve and Last Kingdom are others to consider.
KOOL ONE was progressive on the flat in the autumn and carried that on over hurdles over the winter when tried at a high level. It was a bit too far out to say where he would've finished if he didn't fall in the Fred Winter but he was travelling powerfully at the time and close enough to make a challenge. Racing off 3lb lower here his claims look obvious. Catchabird built on an improved maiden run with a solid placed effort on handicap debut last time. She will have appreciated the recent rain and if getting a stiff test will present a big challenge. Maiden winner Solsbury Hill challenged too early last time but shaped as if capbale off this mark and completes the list of dangers.

Wendrock has run at all three big Festival meetings this year, including when fifth to Murcia at Aintree last time, and may be vulnerable to a fresher rival in ITS BILBO. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding won a Punchestown maiden on soft ground and was far from disgraced behind Hello Neighbour in a Leopardstown Grade 2 over Christmas. He was narrowly denied on his only outing since at Limerick last month, while Blue Lemons also handled soft ground when winning a Gowran maiden but needs to bounce back after disappointing in the Triumph Hurdle.
BLUE LEMONS was disappointing in the Triumph last time but he was well enough found in the market that day and is worth forgiving the run as he went off far too fast. All of his flat form would suggest that this return to a softer surface will suit and he can take advantage of a drop in grade here. Wendrock ran a big race from a poor position last time and had a similar track bias against him at Aintree last time. He looks the biggest danger down in grade though Its Bilbo showed a willing attitude last time and isn't dismissed.

COME WALK WITH ME has come up against some smart sorts in maidens and gets the vote on his handicap debut. The locally-trained gelding filled the runner-up spot behind Sounds Victorius over 2m4f here on New Year's Day and also finished second on both outings since, including behind Redemption Day at Naas. The lightly-raced Farmers Lodge is on a hat-trick and handles cut in the ground well, while Oscars Brother is also reappearing after a break and was only narrowly denied last time in a valuable 3m1f Navan handicap. Lucky Lyreen, Mordor and UK raider Idefix De Ciergues are others to note.
The progressive pair at the top of the weights Farmers Lodge and OSCARS BROTHER make plenty of appeal. The former arrives seeking a hat trick and the form of his penultimate victory is working out very well. The latter has also been kept fresh since a slightly unlucky handicap defeat before Christmas where he was out-battled late at a stiff track. There is little to choose between Colonel Mustard, Beacon Edge, Staffordshire Knot and SANDOR CLEGANE on running behind Jimmy Du Seuil in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham and slight preference is for the Paul Nolan-trained gelding, who is quite well treated by the conditions of this race and won't be inconvenienced by soft ground. Kopeck De Mee was well touted prior to disappointing on his debut for current connections at the Cheltenham Festival, but showed the talk wasn't misplaced when just failing to land a valuable 2m4f handicap at Aintree. Lantry Lady has been lightly raced since finishing fourth to Lossiemouth at Cheltenham last year, while Kala Conti is another talented mare to consider.
An open contest which could go to the unexposed Lantry Lady. She won her first couple of starts on testing ground last winter before performing adequately at spring festivals at the top level. Though her chase debut didn't go to plan her yard was struggling at the time and she will be happier back over the smaller obstacles. Kopek De Mee arrived from France with a huge reputation and put his Martin Pipe disappointment behind him when runner up at Aintree under a moderate ride. He is entitled to come on for that run again and ought to go close up in grade. The strong travelling Sandor Clegane doesn't always find much for pressure but he has been racing over staying trips of late and should see this out better.

HEART WOOD is well treated at the weights and may prove difficult to beat. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding got his season off to a winning start on soft ground at Wexford and has shaped well on all three outings since in Grade 1 company, including when second to the impressive Fact To File in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham. Riding arrangements suggest Blood Destiny, who handles soft ground well and is lightly raced this season, is preferred of Willie Mullins' trio, while stablemate Saint Sam has proved a great servant to connections in this type of event.
A good opportunity for HEART WOOD to gain his first win since reappearance now dropped in grade after his Ryanair runner up effort. He has a clear class edge on these and there are doubts surrounding the stamina of Found A Fifty who would appear the biggest rival on form. Saint Sam has been prolific in small fields this term and just went too fast last time setting it up for a stablemate. Back on favourable good ground, he will be dangerous if allowed a freebie up front. His stablemate Blood Destiny has always been highly regarded but has had issues and has largely failed to live up to the hype. However, he should come on for his run earlier in the year and with the recent downpour in his favour isn't dismissed.

Haiti Couleurs is an obvious contender coming here off the back of winning the National Hunt Chase over a similar trip at the Cheltenham Festival. However, NOW IS THE HOUR was still in contention when falling two out and enjoys a 4lb swing in the weights, plus he relishes testing conditions. The recent wet spell has also come in time for stablemate Bioluminescence, who won a Grade 2 on her chasing debut at Limerick and stays well, while stamina will not be a concern for Any Second Now, who was runner-up here last year and is now 1lb lower. Daily Present beat Johnnywho by a neck in the Kim Muir, while Dunboyne and Bushmans Pass also landed valuable staying handicap chases last time.
An open race as ever contested by a mix of experienced and unexposed horses. KINTURK KALANISI represents last year's winning yard and though they are without a winner this year that wouldn't be the case if the selection hadn't unseated late last time when looking the likely winner. He gets to race off the same mark here and all of his previous form which includes beating the Scottish National winner suggests the easier ground will be in his favour. Classy mare Bioluminescence got her eye in at this venue last time when finishing runner up to a classy rival who was getting weight. Testing ground has always suited her and she holds strong claims for a yard with multiple chances. Her stablemate Now Is The Hour came to grief when coming to challenge Haiti Coleurs at Cheltenham and is likely to reverse that form if his jumping holds up with the easier ground in his favour. Of those at bigger prices inconsistent novice Search For Glory could go well. He was poorly placed in the Ultima last time but this longer trip and easier ground should be more suitable. All three reserves would also be of interest if getting in. Another Choice has been kept fresh since his Porterstown runner up effort and Will Do has proven consistent in top staying handicaps all year despite a questionable attitude. Canal End relished the step up in trip last time landing a gamble and is unexposed as a stayer.

BETTER TIMES AHEAD was runner-up to subsequent Scottish National winner Macdermott in this race last year and was just denied over a similar trip the following month at the Punchestown Festival. The Robert Tyner-trained gelding is well suited by testing ground and should be ready to peak after two outings this year. Folly Master beat Rolly Bowley Boy over almost 2m4f at Punchestown on New Year's Eve and shouldn't have stamina concerns having also won a 2m7f handicap hurdle. Union Station was only sent chasing this year and appreciated the step up in trip when runner-up to Brandt over 3m4f at Leopardstown last month.
An open contest which could go the way of the 2023 winner MACS CHARM who races off a 5lb lower mark this time. He's been hinting at a revival under some overly aggressive rides in hot handicaps and could now be ready to strike again. JP McManus boasts a strong hand with Battle It Out and Better Times Ahead. The former has had some jumping issues but is a strong traveller and remains open to improvement on just his second try at 3m. The latter has proved admirably consistent despite a rising mark and with Mark Walsh back on board could go one better than last year. Folly Master landed a gamble last time and though this revised mark demands more he isn't ruled out with the longer trip in his favour.

SHUTTLE DIPLOMACY won two bumpers last term, including a Limerick Listed race in impressive fashion, and ran a cracker on his belated seasonal debut at the Cheltenham Festival. The Tom Cooper-trained gelding had Sortudo four lengths behind when finishing third to Bambino Fever and could progress further with that run under his belt. Kovanis was bought for 330,000 pounds after easily winning a point-to-point back in the autumn and justified favouritism in a bumper at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting, while C&D winner I'll Sort That handled testing conditions well when following up at Naas last time.
Shuttle Diplomacy finished ahead of SORTUDO when placed in the Champion Bumper last time and that sets the form standard. Though that was his first run for nearly a year it is likely his trainer had him primed for the big day and he may not confirm that form. He got first run on in that steadily run race and this track may suit the selection better. His previous runner up effort at Graded level took a huge boost recently at Aintree so he can ensure his yard follows up last year's success. I'll Sort That is unbeaten in this sphere and has proven himself in testing conditions. He should fill the final place.
