ILE DE RE ran well for a long way on his hurdling debut at Aintree earlier this month before being left behind by two high-class rivals in the closing stages and, entitled to have learned a great deal from that experience, he could prove difficult to beat here. Open Hearted should go close providing a fall at Uttoxeter last month hasn't knocked his confidence, while Cross Of Honour, a Carlisle bumper scorer in October, cannot be ruled out on his first run over the sticks.
Most of these are open to improvement at this trip and choosing between them isn't easy. Costly pointing purchase Dramatic Duke looks the pick of the O'Neill trio with McCoy booked, but preference is for useful Flat stayer Il de Re, who made a sound start over hurdles recently and should relish the step up to 2½m. Open Hearted is another to consider if none the worse for his recent fall.

Habbie Simpson has yet to complete in two attempts over fences and getting round will be his main objective today, while Eighteen Carat just failed to last out over an extended 3m1f at Catterick last time and dropping back in trip should help his cause. The vote, however, goes to PRINCE OF PIRATES, who is making his debut over the larger obstacles. Despite having problems, he has won bumper and hurdle races and remains potentially high class.
Prince of Pirates looks another useful chasing prospect for the Seven Barrows team and could prove a better option than useful hurdler Habbie Simpson, who has yet to complete in 2 starts over fences. Eighteen Carat will be on hand to pick up the pieces if the duo fail to come up to scratch.

TOUR D'ARGENT looks the one to beat. A talented bumper performer last season, he made a promising start to his hurdling career when runner-up over 2m5f at Warwick earlier this month and any improvement should see him go one better. Parsnip Pete has performed honourably in a couple of decent novice events already and should give another good account, while point-to-point winner Shockingtimes could be worth a second look in the betting market.
This looks a good opportunity for Tour d'Argent to get off the mark over hurdles. Fellow bumper winner Parsnip Pete is the obvious main danger, with Irish maiden point winner Shockingtimes perhaps best of the rest.

HARRY THE VIKING showed what he's all about when grinding out a narrow victory first time over fences here 19 days ago, with the extra couple of furlongs sure to suit, he will be fancied to complete the double. Lively Baron was almost six length back in third that day and has outstanding claims now meeting on 13lb better terms, but he's not the most reliable and Graduation Night, who bids to make it four from four over fences, rates the biggest threat.
Harry The Viking had Lively Baron back in third when they clashed in a novice here last month, but the latter is now 16 lb better off at the weights and is worth chancing to turn the tables. The progressive Graduation Night also enters the reckoning in an interesting contest.

Tony Carroll's gelding produced win and placed efforts on the all-weather at Kempton last month, proving he's in good heart, he showed a liking for this track when striking over C&D in January. A Bridge Too Far has yet to finish out of the placings in six starts under Rules (winning two) and should be in the shake-up once again, while Switched Off is respected after his second at Huntingdon.
A Bridge Too Far was progressive when last seen in the spring and can make a winning return to action. C&D winner Shalambar has been in good order on the Flat of late and should go well, while Remember Now is well treated if bouncing back from a couple of poor runs.

Beneficial Reform will have plenty of supporters after his win over 3m here last month, but that form looks slightly suspect and SEIZE is preferred in receipt of 4lb. The likeable grey responded to his rider's every call when scoring over two furlongs shorter here last time and a 6lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to prevent him from following up. Recent Towcester winner Picture In The Sky is worthy of consideration off a handy racing weight.
River d'Or is well treated and taken to gain a first success over fences after shaping with more promise for his new yard last time. The lightly-raced Beneficial Reform got off the mark over fences here last month and should have more to give, while Picture In The Sky comes here in form after a victory at Towcester earlier this month.
