Lucky Wink looks a likely contender from the rail post, while Ms Louisa Quatorse should have more to offer today after a promising debut. However, SO YA KNOW didn't appreciate the step up to a route trip latest and would be hard to beat if reproducing her previous sprint efforts.
MAGIC BERTI produced a personal best when filling the runner-up berth over C&D last month, putting up the highest last speed-figure, and he looks the one to beat from an inside post today. However, he could face strong competition from Lazer Commander who almost broke through at the second time of asking when stepped up to 1m and there should be more to come.
Sierra Bella has every chance on her best form and represents an in-form barn, while Late Breaking News will relish a return to sprinting. Mary's Month reached the frame in a higher grade last time out, but it could pay to take a chance on MORE SALT who landed a big gamble in style first time out. This is tougher but there is sure to be more to come.
KING OF DECOR is the clear pick on the formbook and is by far the fastest at today's distance. He hasn't been seen since October, but he looked sharp in a 5f workout last week and rates the selection today. Should the selection's fitness let him down, the progressive Modacious should be ready to pounce after filling the runner-up berth over C&D latest.
Foreign Secretary was a very impressive winner over a similar trip at Monmouth when last seen in June 2004, but he may be a bit rusty. Attentions are therefore turned to DEVIL'S GULCH, who put up the highest last speed-figure when going very close in a similar event here latest. Wicklow Highlands won well here at the start of last month and is one to consider on that form.
JEANETTE'S HOPE made the frame over 4.5f at Pimlico first time out, putting up the highest last speed-figure. She should come on for that and, with connections firing on all cylinders, looks the safest bet today. Mystical failed to build on an encouraging debut latest but is still a serious contender. Watch the market for clues on the newcomers.
The progressive D.D. ROCKS got the better of Pias Moonlite and Lights Out Angel to go close over C&D last month and, with further progress expected, looks the one to beat from the rail post today. The biggest threat appears to be Gonnabreakeven, who is also moving in the right direction and went close to landing a double in a similar event at Monmouth recently.
With the rail post throwing up plenty of winners here recently, Mr Gil must be given serious consideration as he represents a hot trainer/jockey combo. However, he can be taken on with FERNIUS who ran out an easy winner over this trip last month before finding 1m4f too far latest. City Kid can figure if putting his latest run behind him.
