CAUSE OF CAUSES disappointed when a well-supported third at Galway behind Boxer Beat (second), but with conditions possibly a bit on the fast side for him there and racing off 5lb better terms with that rival this time around, he looks the one to go for. Pires is well over a stone higher in the ratings than when he landed this race last year, but he has been in great heart of late, including when third in a competitive hurdle at Listowel last month, and shouldn't be discounted, while Absolutlyfantastic looks unexposed in the chasing sphere.

GOLDEN WONDER looked a useful prospect when winning his first start over fences and with subsequent Munster National runner-up Spring Heeled over three lengths adrift that time, he earns the selection here. It's tough to know what Darroun beat at Tipperary but the margin of victory was pretty telling and he demands respect for leading connections, while Sizing Rio, a Grade 3 winner ahead of County Hurdle hero Ted Veale, was backed as if defeat was out of the question when last sighted in May and duly obliged on his first sighter over fences.

TOP SPIN recorded what some might argue was a long overdue hurdle success at Fairyhouse last week and with his confidence presumably buoyed by getting his head in front, he could be a tough opponent to beat. The bumper finale can go the way of NO CASH FLOW. Beaten just a length when sent off a 4-1 favourite over the distance at Listowel last month, that outing is expected to have brought Henry de Bromhead's charge on again and he'll be wiser for the experience. Harvey Logan endured a troublesome passage at Punchestown in April before clipping heels and slipping under Alan Berry, but he can make the frame if over that mishap, along with Ballintotty Boy.
