GRAZED KNEES left behind a moderate debut run at Leicester when third at Nottingham recently, despite being hampered. A half-brother to dual course winner Beau Mistral, David Brown's gelding is expected to make the most of his low draw to score. Crawford Avenue overcame a tardy start to finish her race off well on debut at Ascot and merits a market check, along with newcomer Seve, who is a half-brother to course winner Ballesteros.

Watch out for: Crawford Avenue (6)

Grazed Knees and Crawford Avenue both look set to go well having shaped well on their latest starts respectively. However Spend A Penny shaped much better than the bare result on debut at Hamilton last month, and with that experience unlikely to be wasted on him here, he is selected to lose the maiden tag at the second attempt.

Monumental Man demonstrated his effectiveness around a sharp, left-handed circuit when winning twice at Lingfield last year and advertised his well-being when scoring under this rider over 5f at Newmarket latest. He's yet to win over 6f from seven previous attempts, however, so marginal preference is for CRUISE TOTHELIMIT, a C&D winner holding his form well at the moment. The well-handicapped Springinmystep looks best of the rest.

Watch out for: Monumental Man (2)

A small-field but tricky stuff nevertheless, and a chance is taken on Smokethatthunders who has slipped to his last winning mark having been campaigned over longer trips on AW/turf so far this year, and should benefit from the likely strong pace here. Preference, however, is for Brian Ellison inmate LLANARMON LAD, who flashed home from off the pace to grab second behind the well-regarded Abseil in a hot handicap at Epsom and looks primed to strike anytime soon. Pilgrims Rest may be able to reverse recent course form with Stellar Express from a lower draw.
