ATLANTIC AFFAIR was fourth behind subsequent Listed winner Rizeena two runs ago at Ascot and built on that effort when second at Leicester - form which sets the standard here. Quantum Dot is a half-brother to a juvenile Listed sprint winner and commands a market check for local handler Tom Dascombe, while there may be better to come from Salford Red Devil, who ran green from a poor draw when third over C&D on debut.

Top Tip: Atlantic Affair (7)
Watch out for: Quantum Dot (3)

Atlantic Affair is clearly going in the right direction, and the form of her latest effort at Leicester sets a good standard. She can get off the mark here, perhaps at the chief expense of Salford Red Devil, who has again been done no favours by the draw, but has plenty of scope for improvement nonetheless. Likely-looking newcomers Edge and Quantum Dot also merit respect.

Chester Aristocrat is evidently on good terms with himself at present and completed a 6f double when scoring at Hamilton. Eric Alston's gelding has a further 5lb rise to contend with but should give it his best shot from the front. There should be plenty waiting in the wings looking to pick him off late on, however, and PICTURE DEALER, who hinted at a revival when second at Lingfield last weekend, is preferred ahead of Tango Sky and Bubbly Ballerina.

Greeleys Love has been knocking hard on the door this year and ran a cracker when second at Epsom during the Derby meeting. A wide draw is less than ideal today, however, so the vote goes to the lightly-raced FORGOTTEN HERO. Thought good enough to compete in last year's Craven, he's sharpened up his fitness with two recent 1m runs and can improve for this stiffer test. Area Fifty One and Spifer are others to consider.

Greeleys Love appears to be Mark Johnston's first string here judged on jockey bookings, but he showed signs of temperament at Epsom last week and it could be worth siding with his stablemate Fennell Bay, who will be hard to pass if ridden positively round here. Alan King's runners always command the utmost respect on the level and his OUR PHYLLI VERA is especially interesting here, since her trainer won the same race 12 months ago with Reyamour. The selection stayed on strongly to score over 1m2f at Chepstow and should have no problems staying 1m4f if a 5lb rise can be overcome. Last-time-out course (1m2f) third Star Lahib and recent Windsor second Saint Helena are others high on the shortlist.

Well drawn here, Ruth Carr's charge has dropped to within 2lb of his last winning mark so gets the vote ahead of Best Trip, who has been raised 4lb for his recent success at Catterick. Free Spin has been threatening to win for months (often outpaced over inadequate sprint trips) and looks a serious player too.

She faced a tough task as a three-year-old taking on her elders at York last time and her performance is probably best ignored after she raced alone on the far rail. Better can be expected now back against her own age group. Jillnextdoor and Space Artist both have place claims.
