ALLOW DALLOW bumped into some smart looking novices' at Wincanton last time out but the gut feeling is that he's much better than that performance suggested. Based on his half length second to subsequent winner Wuff at Uttoxeter in December, he should be up to winning a maiden of this nature and the point-to-point winner is entitled to show improvement going up to 3m for the first-time. Robbers Roost is feared most based on his Fakenham second to the smart Doctor Harper last time, while Master Todd is another to keep onside.
Master Todd may have needed last month's return at Exeter and has obvious claims back over hurdles if recapturing the form he was showing 12 months ago, in a maiden that won't take much winning. Allow Dallow is proving expensive to follow, so Robbers Roost may be the one for the forecast after his much-improved second at Fakenham.

ALPHA VICTOR would be forced to give Bob Ford 7lb if this were a handicap so he's expected to successfully carry a winner's penalty in what looks a match on paper. Rebecca Curtis' charge is entitled to improve for the first-time tongue tie, but William Kinsey's inmate was impressive when scoring over fences at Sedgefield three starts ago and he arrives on the back of a successful spin over hurdles at Bangor. Danners and Strike Fast complete the quartet but would have to step up.
Dual hurdles winner Bob Ford has had 6 tries over fences without success but this represents a drop in class and he's worth the benefit of the doubt sporting a tongue tie for the first time. Danners may grab second from the untrustworthy Alpha Victor.

KING ROLFE is open to plenty of improvement at this stage of his career and was last seen running a good second in a 'jumpers' bumper' at Southwell. Tim Vaughan's Stratford maiden winner makes his handicap debut and could be well in off a mark of 115 with ground conditions very much in his favour. Going Concern is the sole C&D winner and must be considered a player, while a big performance from the standard setting Roudoudou Ville is also expected.
A tricky race to call with all 6 runners having something to prove for one reason or another. Roudoudou Ville is potentially thrown in but he's evidently had his problems and tesing ground would be a worry, so preference is for Going Concern, who holds strong claims if his latest run can be forgiven.

HEAVENSTOWN built on his Southwell success with a solid placed effort at Wetherby and another massive run looks on the cards. He really has been rejuvenated for the fitting of blinkers, which are won again. Minella On Line is relatively unexposed with only five NH starts under his belt and he should be in the mix, while Bendant ran a cracking race behind subsequent Listed winner Restless Harry over fences at Newbury last time and has definite claims on his return to hurdling duty.
Heavenstown is in blinding form and will continue to go well while the blinkers work, but Minella On Line takes a drop in grade after a bright start in handicaps at Kempton and could be the way to go for a yard usually among the winners here. Paddy The Oscar could take a hand also.

The feeling is that BARTON GIFT would have gone very close to supplementing his Exeter success at Warwick but for unseating Nico de Boinville five from home and he makes plenty of appeal competing from the foot of these weights. The form of Rocky Bender's second over hurdles at Exeter looks rock solid with the winner and third both striking since and he should give a good account on his chasing return, while Present To You and Ballylifen are others worthy of consideration.
Barton Gift would have gone close to following up his Exeter win at Warwick last month and is very much respected, alongside Rocky Bender, but last year's winner Victory Gunner showed he was no back number when third off a higher mark at Exeter recently, and looks sure to make a stout defence of his crown.
