Fret D'estruval makes his first start for Alan King following two comfortable triumphs for Guillaume Macaire in the latter part of the summer and the double green silks of Simon Munir and Issac Souede are synonymous with success in this sphere. Ok Corral is sure to be popular following his Grade 1 second over hurdles at this track in the Albert Bartlett last season. That is comfortably the best form of these over timber and a repeat on his chasing debut should see him hard to beat. Stablemate Jenkins should not be dismissed lightly, however, while Rebecca Curtis' DROVERS LANE has slowly developed into a useful operator and having got his chasing career back on track with a slick round of jumping to score by 11 lengths at Market Rasen last time, can advertise his fencing talents to a wider audience here. The Russian Doyen is also respected following a comfortable chase debut success at Exeter and he looks tailor-made for the larger obstacles.

BUN DORAN is hard to oppose if arriving in the same form as when a comfortable eight-length winner here at the November meeting. A 10lb shouldn't be too much of a burden considering the ease with which Tom George's seven-year-old scored last time and he was second in this contest last season. It was Kerry Lee who landed the spoils on that occasion with Gino Trail and she looks to repeat the dose with another of her stable veterans in Top Gamble, who will be suited by any ease in the ground. Easy Aintree winner Yorkist and Hell's Kitchen are others to consider, while Theinval is potentially plotting a path back to the Grand Annual in March but his course experience can't be completely ignored.

This could well be The New One's swansong with the three-time winner of this contest applied with a visor to see whether that can make a difference after his disappointing return at Ffos Las. Summerville Boy's jumping failed to cut the mustard behind the impressive Buveur D'air in the Fighting Fifth and he will need to improve in that department here. That said, rain would help his cause greatly along with WE HAVE A DREAM, who didn't appear to get home over 2m3f at Ascot last time and the drop back in trip looks in his favour. Vision Des Flos and Western Ryder both showed smart form as novice hurdlers and can put themselves in the mix, especially the latter who sports first-time cheekpieces.
