DECENT RAINE (1) is the one they have to beat. Hammered them at Ballarat and then just missed around here last time after getting back in the run. Should be able to settle handy to an even pace in the small field. Great scenario for her. TONNEOFGRIT (4) has a similar set up. Strong through the line from a touch too far back at Warwick Farm but a good effort and it sets him up to peak now. TREPORTI (5) bumped into a smart one two back. That form has worked out really well and Treporti won at the Valley as though he would be better again up to 1400m. VICTORY BAY (3) also comes off a maiden win at the Valley. Strong connections and clearly has talent.

The form from the Ballarat Magic Millions has not exactly set the world on fire but COVER STAR (10) was really strong there and looks well made for 1200m. Finds herself in the first half a dozen in betting for the Millions on the Gold Coast and that assessment surely speaks to her being a good chance against these. She has the pick of the raced form. JACQUINOT (5) and THE SWOOPER (8) are both likely types from the jump outs. Both have shown good natural talent and run for yards that have to be respected kicking them off at this time of the year. JAMARRA (1) won going away at Bendigo and should have those covered again. THESECONDATPORTSEA (14) is another jump out winner with a deep profile. Has the makings of a nice horse.

Going to be very interesting to see MARABI (17) in a different scenario to what she has been facing. She has controlled things from the front in recent runs but with Ancestry and Sartorial Splendor both fronting up with the shades on the pace looks like being red-hot early. Nice test for a mare that has looked a star in the making to this point. Betting value could be with the SA visitor OUTLAWS REVENGE (10) who is in the zone over there and the form around him has been working out well. It has worked out in Melbourne through PARSIFAL (4) who was really good last time and has as hope. Must respect a freshened AWAY GAME (1) despite never hitting her best in the spring. Easier test for her now. Both CURRAN (12) and MUNITIONS (9) are expected to run well in a race that runs deep away from the dominant favourite.

Wide open race to finish. Big interest in how BLAZERRO (8) gets on. Form prior to latest was solid for a race like this. Strong effort in the Sandown Guineas which wasn't strong for the class but the rating was solid and it certainly looks good form for a race at this level. Tricky draw but they book Oliver to look after that. EXCELIDA (4) is hardly a prolific winner but she is certainly consistent and this is a nice race for her. She's a chance and so is ELUDING (6) who was run down last time but may actually prefer a race with a bit more pressure now. SIG POSITANO (2) draws to get a cheap run and has the form to figure while STAY GOLD (12) stuck to the task gamely at the Valley and is respected off that.
