SAVED BY JOHN looks the safest option as he's consistent, gets the trip well and represents a yard enjoying a cracking time. His Irish form stands close inspection too and although giving the impression that he doesn't always put it all in, he should be good enough. Seedless has done well since returning from a lengthy absence and rates an obvious threat in receipt of 7lb. Bob's Ticket, interesting with his conditional claiming the maximum allowance, is not discounted.
Saved By John isn't one to steam into given his tendency to idle but he boasts the most pressing claims and can see off Seedless.

Confidence in COUNTRYWIDE FLAME is tempered by his yard's 0-10 record here over the past five years but he impressed on his Market Rasen debut and rates a decent prospect. There's room for improvement too as he was not overly fluent and refused to settle before his Flat speed proved decisive. He can follow up at the expense of Market Maker, close up last time at Market Rasen in a decent contest. Urban Kode, a four-time Flat winner, looks an interesting newcomer.
Countrywide Flame appeals more than the other 2 previous winners in the field, of whom Market Maker may still come out second best, with only Urban Kode looking of particular interest among the debutants.

SOUL MAGIC has found his form dramatically in the last couple of months - the Lake District air clearly the key. He hasn't been harshly treated for three successive course wins and is hard to oppose under a 7lb penalty. Tranos, useful at best, needs to put a recent disappointment behind him, although it's interesting he returns to action so quickly. Apache Dawn must surely land a success sooner or later but a 0-31 NH record is a major deterrent.
Soul Magic has been in fine form here since being dropped back to this trip and he looks to have been found a very good opportunity to complete his 4-timer. Tranos has the ability to trouble him if his jumping holds up.

Sailor's Sovereign, just out of the handicap, only went down narrowly here last time back in May and could go well if ready to roll. However, WOR ROM put up a cracking effort here four days ago, when second to Itzacliche, and gets the vote in the hope that those exertions have not taken their toll. Kilvergan Boy pulled up in that contest but has claims on previous consistent efforts and it's interesting he's turned out so quickly after that disappointment.
Kilvergan Boy was still in front when coming to grief here last week and he can atone for that error here. Wor Rom is the obvious one to chase him home.

GOLDEN DREAM benefitted from a superb McCoy ride at Bangor, for which he's been raised an acceptable 5lb in the ratings. Soft ground is a slight concern but two wins on yielding ground in point-to-points suggest he'll handle conditions. Bankstair returned from a year off to post a respectable effort at Perth in late June and rates an obvious danger on last year's consistent efforts, whilst Iona Days is improving nicely and cannot be ruled out, likewise No Panic if on a going day.
Bankstair wasn't far off his best when returning from 13 months on the sidelines at Perth in July and may prove too strong for the thriving Golden Dream.

PAINTED SKY has taken time to really get his act together over hurdles but now arrives in search of a hat-trick and this looks his trip. He just repelled the challenge of Winter Alchemy here four days ago and looks best followed in his current mood. Scotswell has also discovered a new level this year and remains fairly treated with trip and ground to suit. Snake Charmer, fourth here to Painted Sky last week, tries again and is not discounted.
The 2 last-time-out winners at the foot of the weights look set to dominate affairs, with the unpenalised Scotswell preferred to Painted Sky.

HEART OF DUBAI landed a handicap here in June and returned the following month to post a highly respectable effort in a novice hurdle, narrowly beaten by He's A Hawker. Versatile as regards trip, he's not been disgraced back on the level since. Souter Point finally got on the scoreboard over hurdles in May and now has his first outing over timber for Tony Carroll. He should go well along with Grand Lahou and Talk Of Saafend in an interesting heat.
Grand Lahou ran a career best over hurdles at Hereford last week and still has scope for better given his pretty useful chase form. He's just preferred to C&D winner Heart of Dubai, with fair Flat performer Veroon also capable of figuring if taking to hurdling at the first time of asking.
