Verdict

FEU DE DIEU (2) is improving and had some of these rivals well behind earlier this month. He should take out this opening event. DJIN'S (6) is likely to do better and at least finish closer to that rival, with improvement expected. BILLY JANGO (5) was not disgraced when fourth that day and is also likely to improve and be more competitive this time around. KADOVER (7) is consistent and can also get into the mix of things.

JOUR POLAIRE (2) has been placed in a Listed hurdle at this track last winter. This is his first start after a lengthy break and his fitness will need to be taken on trust, but he does set a high standard for the race. An interesting race. ALASTOR MAUGREY (1) made a promising debut to his career, in a race whose form has worked out well and could prove hard to beat in this line-up with improvement to come. COPADONNA (16) showed some progress in this division lately and can get involved with the finish. L'ESSENTIEL (11) is coming off a fair run over this course and distance and can make the frame. MANDATORY (3) is unreliable but is also capable of being a threat to these rivals.

BANDJO (2) is improving and only found one better on the day last time out at this track a week ago. He can get his head in front off this handicap mark. CANONBIE LAD (10) was not disgraced over this course and distance earlier this week and, if there is to be a threat to the selection, it may well be him. ZAYED THE GREAT (1) carries a penalty for a handicap win last time out but can contest the finish again. PROCTOR (8) showed improvement but has more to do this time.

Verdict

LEWIS GREY (9) has very good form in hurdle races. This is his chase debut and he does look the one to be with. ADES (10) is improving and was a good third at this track over hurdles earlier this month. It is also his first time over fences. AMOUR DU ROI (2) has not been as reliable as those two rivals but is also capable of getting involved with the finish if on a going day. MALACA (6) has chase experience and is another to consider.

Verdict

ALLIED POWERS (4) has not won since 2023, but he has not raced often since then and can win at this level following a nice return to competition in Pisa. ADVICE (9) drops to a claimer for the first time and is quite capable of winning. NARVAL (10) has been consistent in Italy and can get involved with the finish once again. LILLOU (8) is proven in this division and can go one better, after a good last finish effort, although this does look a tougher task.
