Sevenna Star looked in need of the outing in the Great Voltigeur at York when seventh to Old Persian in August, and he has threatened to find further improvement when tackling longer distances. Ghostwatch (first) finished ahead of MEKONG (fourth) when the pair met in the Melrose, but preference goes to the latter as he bids to reverse that form. Sir Michael Stoute's colt improved from York with an impressive success at Haydock last month, and he looks a stayer with a bright future. CLIFFS OF CAPRI has shown excellent form on both his starts over C&D, having won here in July before finishing a good fifth in the Cunard Handicap behind Ripp Orf last month. He remains on the same mark, and has a talented amateur in Alex Ferguson taking the ride. Simon Walker is a good booking for Rum Runner, who should prove happier on a sounder surface compared to what he encountered at Haydock last time, while Red Charmer went close at Newmarket latest and is respected, despite the drop back from 1m1f.
