Having been in superb form throughout last year, it might be worth sticking with CALLMETONY who was beaten a short-head when last seen in claiming company. Market support for Indian War Dance on his return to sprinting would be interesting, while Stonewood can usually be relied upon to be thereabouts at the finish.
Having gained the upper hand close home on her recent return from a lengthy break, ARISTO is fancied to maintain her progressive profile by completing a double. With four runner-up prizes from her last six outings, Appealing Mystery cannot be dismissed with any confidence, nor can Higher Incentive who made a habit of finishing third late last year.
Unleaded Bridel was in fine form during the second half of last year and must enter calculations, as must Golden Man who wasn't disgraced over 6f here last time out and could improve for the longer trip. Preference, however, is for top-weight TAKING THE REDEYE who made all in a recent 1m claimer here and could make a bold bid to repeat the feat.
Narrowly defeated in a similar event here earlier this month, Mrs. Gottlieb is entitled to be involved in the finish, while It's All Good did well to finish a close third last month and could have more to offer. There was a lot to like about the way CREATE A SCENE conducted herself when second on her debut, however, so she should make a bold bid if finding normal improvement for the experience.
A debut winner back in July 2005, SHEA D'LADY didn't appear again until last November, but she has clearly retained her ability and must be of some interest today. Zippy Missy made a winning return from almost a year off earlier this month and warrants the utmost respect, while Citrine won four of her five races in 2006 and should be monitored for support after a break.
PARISIAN AIRESS should have derived considerable benefit from her recent debut, when narrowly beaten over this C&D, and is fancied to go one better, probably at the main expense of the far more experienced What's That Marnie who was some 4 lengths behind the selection in third. Market support for either of the newcomers should be noted.
None of these arrive here in outstanding form, so it might be worth taking another chance on STORY LINE who reached the frame in two of his three races here towards the end of last year. Pratt warrants the utmost respect as his form figures might have read better had he not been forced wide in his last two starts, while market support for Start At Five on his third start since a lengthy absence should be noted.
Bidding to complete a five-timer at this track, over distances varying from 1m to 2m, SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR makes most appeal. This slightly longer trip seems certain to suit recent 1m1f course winner Tall Story who looks the biggest danger, although it is entirely possible that the very consistent Carminooch might have other ideas on that score.
Fiddlers Warrior has already gone very close on a couple of occasions over this C&D and is entitled to be in the shake-up once again, while Marlinspike is another to consider, but a chance is taken on HUMERUS ALEX who has been stuck on the wide outside in both races so far and might have much more to offer when allowed to take a more conventional route.
