TRACKMENS STAR ran well over C&D on his sole start to date and, if running to a similar level of form on his first run since March, would take all the beating. Karakorum Joe ran respectably in fourth here earlier in the month and is considered, as is Loyal Leader, who is eased in grade having contested a $65k prize at Belmont when last seen in '09.
Living Right recorded the highest last speed figure when finishing a close second over C&D and looks sure to go well again, but slight preference is for THIS HARD LAND. The selection impressed when filling the runner-up spot over C&D on his racecourse debut, coming home nearly two lengths ahead of the reopposing Knock Quietly (third), and should know much more about the game now. Lady On The Run completes the shortlist.
A cracking heat where it's difficult to rule out any of the five runners. Karakorum Fugitive drops in class and warrants respect, but LOTS OF STONES edges the vote in her bid to complete the six-timer. She should no signs of her run coming to an end when scoring comfortably over track and trip last time and a bold bid seems assured. Spina is another who won at the track recently and will have plenty of supporters of her own.
It's hard to see beyond STARLANTIC for the answer to this. He only missed out by a neck in a similar contest over C&D on his debut and might have snatched victory if he hadn't been bumped and his rider hadn't lost his whip. He should go one better tonight. Say Goodbye was third in that race but seemingly well held and Old Guys Rule, third in better company over five and a half furlongs here on his debut, looks a safer bet for the exacta.
Clap Hands ran well over this C&D in this grade last month and she should be thereabouts once again while Mama Dukes can also take a hand. T RAE found only one too good here last time, however, and she is open to improvement so she can go one better on this occasion.
MIDNIGHT VISIT looked a smart prospect when making an impressive winning debut over this track and trip back in November and she is fancied to take another step up the ladder this afternoon. Shirtsleeves is another debut winner who enters calculations but this is much tougher and the more experienced Freuds On Holidays is put forward as the main danger.
Running In Circles and Dance Card Filled can give good accounts but HIGH FLYING ADORE looks like the one they all have to beat. The selection has made the frame over C&d on both starts since his debut and takes a marked drop in grade tonight.
MASALA had Marilyn Guy (second) and Magic Lion (third) in behind when scoring over a similar trip last time out and can frank the form en route to completing the double tonight. The biggest danger appears be Understatement who has been running well in defeat and drops in class here.
The lightly raced JULIE'S INA FRENZY posted a decent speed figure when last seen at Saratoga in August and has strong claims even though stepping outside of maiden company for the first time. Olive Eye advertised her well-being with a credible second over C&D earlier this month and looks the one for the forecast. Last time out scorers Ciminella and Belle Muse make up the shortlist.
