Surfer is an interesting debutant for Godolphin and positive market vibes will suggest a big run is expected first time out but preference is for MARCHING ON. Kevin Ryan's Rock Of Gibraltar colt gets the nod having shaped well on debut at Musselburgh after attempting to make most of the running. A change in tactics may prove profitable here, while Redcar runner-up Rock Supreme is the main threat to the selection.
Surfer is an interesting newcomer, but Ventura Spirit, Rock Supreme and Marching On all showed enough on their respective debuts to think they can win in this company, and are preferred in that order.

Anne Of Kiev is consistent and has two Listed successes to her name this term, but preference is for SWISS DIVA, who drops from Group 1 level after looking a little outclassed in the Prix De L'Abbaye on her final start last year and the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. Her last outing over 6f yielded a Group 3 victory and further ease underfoot would help. Richard Fahey won this race last year with Rose Blossom and the four-year-old filly has a great chance again judged on her best form. Stablemate and recent Pontefract winner Sioux Rising could have further improvement in the locker and is another to consider.
Swiss Diva is the form pick and the obvious starting point, but her record in this race isn't particularly encouraging, so the likeable Puff is preferred. Anne of Kiev is well worth her place in this line-up and appeals of the remainder.

An open handicap contest for punters to solve but DAZZLING LIGHT appeals most for the in-form Jim Goldie. A well-supported favourite when third at Musselburgh last time out, she wasn't at all disgraced and looks on a good mark if able to recapture her very best. Ravi River must defy top weight but has genuine claims from a favourable draw, while the lightly-raced Lady Chaparral makes some appeal, along with Tom Tate's three-year-old Defence Of Duress, who gets a handy weight-for-age allowance and is expected to relish the 1m6f trip.
Bollin Greta arrives here on the back of a career best, but Defence of Duress stands out as an unexposed 3-y-o, and can make this first crack at 1¾m a winning one. The returning Spiekeroog also needs a market check.

SAN CASSIANO has been performing admirably well in defeat in recent weeks, producing his best effort for some time when second over 1m2f at Newcastle on his penultimate starts. The drop back to 1m didn't work out at Haydock last time but he looks well worth a chance over today's 1m4f trip. Royal Ascot fourth Right Step commands a good deal of respect at the top of the weights, while Kathleen Frances is also worthy of a place on the shortlist, with trip and ground seemingly in her favour.
Kathleen Frances will doubtless get her head back in front again soon and must be respected having gone well here in the past, but Greyfriars Drummer shaped really well at Royal Ascot and could give a good account taking on older horses for the first time. Trip The Light is also considered, while Itlaaq needs monitoring in the betting.

It might be worth sticking with Listed winner ZENELLA, despite returning from a lengthy layoff. The Kyllachy filly has solid form in the book and having won first time out on her racecourse debut, she can clearly produce her form when fresh. Both Firebeam and Gladys' Gal make their handicap debuts and must be respected for two in-form yards in the shape of William Haggas and Roger Varian respectively. Fityaan disappointed favourite-backers last time out but is most likely of the others.
It wouldn't be the biggest surprise were Robert The Painter to bounce back at this track, but a couple of unexposed maiden winners in Firebeam and Gladys' Gal make plenty of appeal on their handicap debut. The former does have a bit more to find but is in good hands and could well follow up.

Jamaican Bolt remains unexposed and has started his second season in fine form judged on an easy Southwell maiden win back in April but he has it all to do returning from another break against his elders today. It might be worth taking a chance on SHARP SHOES, who didn't appear to enjoy the soft surface at Hamilton last time out and could be worth another chance off his revised mark if the rain stays away. Black Annis Bower and Mullglen are possible challengers and shouldn't be ruled out.
Quite a competitive-looking handicap, though the unexposed Jamaican Bolt stands out and seems sure to put up a good show on his handicap debut. Mullglen, Lucky Art and Mayoman are just 3 likely dangers.
