Instance ran a respectable race in defeat when third on the Rowley Mile here in May and is likely to go close off a 1lb higher mark but CHOKUREI is narrowly preferred and may be capable of landing a hat-trick. Clive Cox's filly made every yard to land a fillies' handicap at Leicester last time and remains competitively handicapped off 4lb higher today. Psychic's Dream scored handsomely over 6f at Leicester recently but is up in grade today and needs to have improved again to follow up over this longer trip. Sonning Rose, highly tried by Mick Channon, may be of interest to each-way punters with the yard in good form at present.
A 3-y-o handicap that throws together a host of unexposed, progressive sorts, and the trio who make most appeal are Instance, Tuscania and Hezmah. The first-named gets the vote as she finished in front of 3 next-time-out winners last time and is crying out for this longer trip.

Lexi's Hero is a smart sort and landed a valuable York handicap over this trip on his latest start. Another bold bid is anticipated but off a 5lb higher mark he may be vulnerable to better treated rivals. It may be worth siding with FORJATT, who represents the in-form Roger Varian stable. The selection finished tenth behind the Lexi's Hero on his latest start but is better judged on his preceding fourth on the Rowley Mile off 1lb higher, an effort which suggests he can impact here if putting his best foot forward. Stablemate Steps chases a hat-trick and commands respect, as does Coeus, who is 5lb better off with the last-named based upon their 5f running here last month.
A wide-open contest, with plenty closely matched on previous form, particularly the valuable event at York last month won by Lexi's Hero. It may, however, be worth taking a chance on one who hasn't clashed with any of these before in the shape of last month's Goodwood winner St Augustine. Steps and Murbeh head a big list of dangers.

Inetrobil ran a cracking race in defeat when runner-up in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot last month and is expected to give a good account over this this same trip again while Illaunglass, third in the same contest on her most recent start, is another that makes each-way appeal. However, SHUMOOS looks the one to be on, despite the fact she steps up beyond 5f for the first time. Brian Meehan's charge had the beating of the smart Frederick Engels on debut at Haydock and built upon that effort when a short-head second to Best Terms in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, running on in the closing stages to hint this extra furlong would suit. Unbeaten Dutch Art filly Miss Work Of Art skipped the Royal meeting and comes here on the back of a fine Listed win at York so must also enter calculations.
Shumoos sets the standard with her narrow Queen Mary defeat, but My Propeller created a tremendous impression when destroying the opposition at Pontefract in a good time, and she can take the step up in class in her stride. Russelliana is another interesting one pitched straight into pattern company after a debut success.

Three-year-old's have enjoyed a fine record in this contest in recent times, winning four of the last five renewals, but this year's crop don't appear to hold any aces and, from the older generation, River Jetez and SAHPRESA look the pair to focus on. The former advertised her well-being when finishing second to Gitano Hernando in Group 1 company in Singapore in May but that was over 1m2f, a distance at which she has produced all of her career-best efforts to date. Over this shorter trip, Rod Collet's charge looks the one to be on as she has proven herself as a top-class miler by landing both the 2009 and 2010 runnings of the Sun Chariot Stakes on the Rowley Mile and advertised her well-being when recently scooping a Longchamp Group 3 on her seasonal bow. THIMAAR sets the form standard based on his Newbury second over this trip in a conditions event in April and looks the safest option in what appears a trappy heat. Sohar hails from a nice family and although pulling hard over C&D on debut last month, is likely to benefit from the experience gained that day and may be capable of landing a blow today. However, Sir Michael Stoute's newcomer Eagles Peak, a Galileo colt related to useful middle-distance winner Sight Unseen, and Dick Doughtywylie, a half-brother to Gertrude Bell, are feared most. Royal Peculiar, a half-sister to Lancashire Oaks winner Playful Act, is another to consider.

MARAJAA's losing run dates back almost two years but he has slipped some way down the weights this year and is now back on his last winning mark. A credible staying-on third over 7f here last month suggested his turn was near and, now granted this extra furlong, Willie Musson's nine-year-old is taken to bag his seventh career success. Divine Call is less exposed than the selection and, although stepping up in grade, is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Kempton last month. He too looks another that should relish this extra furlong and can give the selection most to think about. From the classic generation, Godolphin's My Freedom, runner-up over this trip on his last start at Newcastle, makes most appeal.
Divine Call and My Freedom stand out as a pair of progressive types. The former has escaped with just a 2 lb rise for his AW success last time, but it's the latter who appeals the most following an unlucky reappearance second. Marajaa looks best amongst the more established runners.
